In this video I replace my rear brake pads on my 2017 Street Glide FLHX.
Changing your rear brakes on your Harley Davidson touring model is an easy job you can do yourself. All you have to do is buy the brake pad kit and use a couple of common tools. Not only will you save money, you will make sure it was done right! This has also fixed that embarrassing squeaking when I hit my rear brake. Make sure to check out the links in the description for everything that I used. #rearbrakesharleydavidson #howtochangerearbrakesharleydavidson #streetgliderearbrakepadchange #harleydavidsonrearbrakepadchange #joegoemotorcycleadventures #harleybrakepadreplacement #motorcyclebrakepads #rearmotorcyclebrakepads #howtochangebrakesmotorcycle #replacingrearbrakesonamotorcycle #harleydavidsonbrakepads #streetgliderearbrakes #changingrearbrakesstreetglide

Brother thanks so much for this great video. Straight to the point without 20 minutes of rambling useless info. I just changed my ultra limited’s rear brakes following this video in about 15 minutes and I’ve never done it before. Appreciate it keep up the great videos.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On many bikes from 2009 up, Harley tells you to replace the pad pin bolt and clip on each caliper with new ones every time you replace the pads. Check your service manuals!

Damn, you make changing break pads so easy to understand. Very helpful for a new Harley owner like me. Two thumbs up. Saved for future reference and subscribed !

Thank you this might be one of the best instructional videos I have ever watched you made it very simple to understand and showed every step in detail

After watching your video, other than loosening the reservoir cap/lid, this is exactly how replacing my rears went. With the exception of trying to equally use the tiny amount of grease that Harley supplied with the kit, it was maybe 15 mins total. Thank you

Great stuff Joe. Most people are afraid to tackle the brake pad change. As you show, fairly easy just a little bit of your time to save some $$$$. Ride safe👊👍🇺🇸

Loosening the master cylinder screws is optional... I don't do this and have never had an issue.

Do you need to remove any old fluid? As the pads wear the pistons move and adding fluid is needed. With new pads the pistons are pushed back so the added fluid is now excess?

What would happen if I do not use the grease ?

Rear brake pads? If I have to use those, I'm already in big trouble. I changed my front brake pads on the starting grid in under 10 minutes one time!

U absolutely do not need to remove brake cylinder fluid

hey joe... if you`re going to film an instructional video and show`n tell just about everything re harley touring models front brake job ...then why would you skip the bolt torking numbers ????

Hey Joe, just a question and you may laugh at me. Where would you suggest to look for an owners manual, 2015 street glide, new or used. The dealers in Canada want $160 and I can’t seem to find one on eBay etc
