As much as I like that the 4 was “better” being I have one, I’m really interested in what the 5 was recording at. Higher fps, more res, or stabilization = faster usage.

Only fighting for the 5 because I’d ask the same questions about the 4 if it lost.

I'm getting 80+ minutes on 1080p and 24 fps with the stabilization on. The quality is amazing and the stabilization is a must when you have it mounted on your bike! Great camera!

more quickly battery drain of HERO 5 easy to explain - stabilization takes some power for itself. But difference between quality of recording video HERO4 and HERO5 definitely cost this sacrifice of autonomous ! My choice - HERO5

It makes more sense to get 2 Hero 4 Session.I shoot with one while charging.1080p for me is enough for 60fps.

I think both are great cameras and can't go wrong with either one. I think depending on what a buyer would use it for, i will just sum it up:

More footage = 4
Less but better = 5

What happens when the battery went empty while recording? Will the recording be saved before the device turns off or will you lost it?

I'm disappointed on gorpo about the 5 session battery life. I called them in regards to this and they said it us much longer life than the 4 session. Anyway thanks for this video!
