Don't Buy A GoPro Hero Session Until You Watch This

The eclipse was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I feel privileged to have been a part of it. However, I was surprised that a drop from about waist level to the ground killed an action camera. If I had known it was so delicate, I wouldn't have bought it.
     Which led me to do this, a full review of the GoPro Hero Session.

I've literally hit mine with a baseball bat multiple times and theres nothing wrong with it. Since you only had it for a week, I'd try reaching out to GoPro. They have real good customer service and would probably swap it out for free! Also, quick tip on the whole wifi connection, you could cut that time in half. I always just turn on the wifi on the gopro, go into settings to connect, and then go into the app. This has worked for me every time, no fail.

I own a GoPro Hero 5 Session, I do not mean to sound rude but:

1) The GoPro wifi link process is not as troublesome as you stated. If your iphone is up to date, all you have to do is click the wifi link on the gopro, then go on the app and connect to its wifi.

2) I have run over my GoPro on a skateboard and Dropped it from my helmet mount. If your GoPro broke from waist hight it may have been defected. I have insurance, but if you do not you may call GoPro customer service and they might replace it. They are very generous!

3) Like I said before, I dont really know if your GoPro is defected or whatever, but the gopro hero 5 has a slightly padded side and heavy plastic corners, so I find it odd that your GoPro was so bad.

I use my session on my racing drone and it has been through countless crashes including falling from about 200 feet. I have had it for about 8 months now and it is a bit scuffed up but still works fine. They are pretty tough. I will however say that I use a tempered glass screen protector. I even crashed it straight into a metal fence pole which cracked the screen protector but the gopro was fine.

My sessions has been to hell and back in the three years I've had it and it still works perfectly. It sounds like you have a problem holding onto things, maybe a pair of velcro gloves might help?

I've had mine for over 7 months and dropped it plenty and works fantastic, and connecting to the app is easy, you did it wrong you just have to keep your gopro on wifi and it will pretty much auto connect, all in all this gopro is very good and is worth the money if you get a metal case for it, as underwater it works really well too.

I have the session for about 5 years now. My points on agree and disagree below :
1. Sturdy: disagree with you. I have had a few rough experiences, but till date only a small scratch.
2. Waterproof: for your awareness, works great. But somewhere it says to keep it locked in the case befor going underwater. Reason not known to me, but I do that, and I have lot of videos with my kids underwater in pool or during sea bathing. Worked perfectly so far, no issues
3. WiFi connectivity: not as bad as you portrayed, but yes, given me headaches at times trying to connect, specially whenever tried with a new phone. My friend took it for his trekking trip, I had set it up with his phone, but finally his phone only helped. So one has to get used to use it.
4. Power backup: lucky if you did get 2 hrs of recording. I could not manage that time.
5. Negatives about no view screen, small control screen is accepted. But guess have learnt to live with that now 😂

My daughter and son-in-law gave me this go pro for a birthday present. I have dropped it four times and it still works so I did not have the bad experience that the reviewer (and it’s a very good review) had. My main beef with The go Pro is it’s software. I may be old and I may be losing it but so far I haven’t been able to get my pictures out of that little box and their explanations or at least my brain are wanting. I recently ordered from Amazon (of coarse) a book called go Pro for dummies. I hope it will help because I like having that little small camera with me it’s very easy to handle when you’re touring.

The session is tough as nails, I have had mine for 4 years and still works great, it fell of my dirt bike and I ran it over and it is fine

I am not dissapointed with it i was diving 10 meters deep, it flew out of the case while in air on my bike, dropped it from a balcony, even survived a drone freefall from 200meters and still works very well, best thing about it is the battery it lasts 2 months before any recharging. Thats just my option but i would recomend it 👌

You know, I appreciate that you made this video because it shows the side of the GPS that many may or may not experience. Mine, the glass cracked while it was in my back pack. I’m assuming that something must have hit it perfectly square and cracked it. It happens but I like this little thing so I fixed it and moved on. I haven’t had any of those problems, I don’t have to go all through all you do to get into the app, there is stabilization aromatic in the GoPro it’s all a brilliant camera 🎥
