hey man im anout to do this same job as well soon i have my bare short block i ordered new arp head studs, felpro head gasket kit orbit oil pump and a wrist pin service cover kit that comes with the rear main and plugs, is there anything else i need besides sending my heads to a machine shop to get checked out ?

I have an 11 wrx, my thought process, shortblock, oil pump, turbo, and then finally get heads machined... this is with a type RA block. Does that sound about right? Missing anything?

why did you use an anaerobic gasket maker instead of RTV ultra grey ?

Nice work! This deserves more likes and views! I have a 13 WRX with a spun bearing... Did you use thicker head gaskets for the type RA EJ257? I was advised against that route, wondering if you have insight.

So I have a 05 legacy gt with a spin bearing thinking of replacing with new block other then a head gasket kit will they bolt right up or do I need to replace many other parts as well ?

I got a new short block for 07 legacy gt and it runs good but when I come to a stop it sometimes revs up to 2000-3000 rpm when in neutral don’t know why.
