Writing handwritten note is one I started to do after watching gentleman gazette

My mom was a college professor. Anytime she visited me in Florida, she was sure to bring oranges home for the custodians that worked in her building. In fact, another professor once asked her why she was so "nice" to the maintenance staff. When the time came for the department to move to a new building, all the professors had to load all their office equipment, books, and other possessions to the new building...except for my mom. The custodians had loaded all her stuff on a cart, taken it to the new building, and left the cart in her new office. She just had to arrange her stuff. She was the only one fully moved in on that first day.

I wrote handwritten letters to my grandma for the last 2-3 years of her life. We both loved writing each other letters and now that she’s passed, I have something to remember her by. Not only are they good etiquette, they make good memories.

Etiquette and “old school” manners are ABSOLUTELY applicable in today’s society!!! Being generous, thoughtful and kind never goes out of style! This video deserves a million thumbs up 👍🏻👏💕

I follow these principles and am teaching my son the importance of being a gentleman and showing others proper respect. Having the ability to help others isn’t a burden but a privilege.

Knowing the cleaning crew by name is priceless! Walking abreast, in the Military the rightmost is the position of honor, but otherwise keep to the outside of a woman to shield her from debris coming from traffic, and traditionally to shield her from whatever is thrown out of an upper window. I observe traditional, or “old school” manners and etiquette because they nearly all have a logical basis and because I’m not enough of a mind reader to predict who will choose to be offended by them.

You pay for the first date so you can LEAD. If you're leading you can escalate, be in control of the situation. Women love a man that leads.

I'm definitely thankful my parents and stepmother taught me how to be a gentleman. Though I haven't been able to use some of these, but, I recognize all of them from my childhood and my teenage years.

Here's an old one for the Victorian traditionalists: the man takes the side closest to the road when walking on a sidewalk with a woman. The theory was that he would take the majority of the muck and dirt splashing from the road back when horse buggies were how we travelled. Not as prevalent today, but I find it an interesting bit of etiquette out there as an option.

Great video! I started to wearing a watch a few years ago because it allowed me to keep track of time without pulling out my phone and being rude to someone I'm talking to. It's easy to take a subtle glance without the other person noticing.

I agree about the timeliness of RSVP invitations. It's either you want to go And don't have plans or not. The whole "maybe I have something going on and maybe I don't" shows that you'd only go if nothing else better comes up.

Man, I actually wrote a handwritten letter not only to my girlfriend, but also to many of my friends in some especial occasions, and all of them were extremely thankful because it was such an unexpected gesture.

I always pay on the first date. And when she tries to split the check I say "let's go out tomorrow and you pay"

Pay for the first date BUT never go to a super expensive place on your first date, a lot of women will think you're trying to buy her with a fancy meal

Great Video. All These things I try to teach to my son. One little detail: when you take out a woman with high heels it is nice to drive her to the entrance of the restaurant or the lokation so she doesn't have to ruin her delicat shoes over cobblestone or maybe in the rain and these shoes are often not comfortable to walk over it. If it is possible.
