There is only one you may have gotten wrong but I'm older and thing may have changed some. The young man should have opened the car door for you, then you turn and sit down in the seat, this is where the young man can help you and hold your hand. Then with legs together you lift and place your legs and feet inside, modesty always when wearing a skirt. The young man then checks to see that you have nothing in the way of the door before closing it and going around to the other side to get in, or you can slide across the seat to let him in. A very fun and amusing way to get manner across today.

My mother always thought us to accept gifts graciously. So even if theyre terrible just say thanks. It can be the thought that counts. You can always regift. I remember when i didnt have pierced ears my SIL gave me earrings. She was going on blowing her own trumpet about how she picked them out for me but never noticed i didnt have pierced ears!! 🤷🏻‍♀️
