Ford converted remaining 2021 orders to 2022s.

Also, I ordered my 22' GT 6spd in very early January. Since then, it's been disrupted by a 1wk stop due to chip shortage, the truckers messing up the supply chain for 2.5 wks, and then the Flat Rock plant shutting down for three weeks over a chemical leak. It sucks lol

And yeah, I've owned Mustangs before. I don't bother with used. You can't truly tell how hard the last owner drove it. I'd rather just get it new & drive it my way.

Finally, I asked a few shops about the horsepower change. They said they've noticed zero difference so far.

I'm glad someone mentioned the ridiculous lack of options to combine packages. Like, come on man, I'm trying to give you more money. Even if their standard PPF doesn't allow it, there must be a way to increase customization. Simple negligence if you ask me.

Glad you bought a manual and the 2022. Many years back during late summer I was deciding between a leftover GT or ordering an identical one that would be the next model year.
After negotiating, the price difference would just be the relatively small annual MSRP increase from Ford, I couldn't believe there was no extra incentive to move that leftover. Still undecided, I thought about NADA values if I wanted to do a trade-in 3 years down the road. So, I checked how much a 3 year old model Mustang would be worth over an identical 4 year old, and it was substantial. Made my decision easy and just 5 weeks later my order arrived.
Something you might want to consider if looking at a leftover.

I figured this might be a good place to tell my Mustang story:
It's been my goal to own a Mustang since Mar. 2019. I spent years looking at every Mustang related video on YouTube and knew exactly what specs I wanted. When it came time to buy in '21, I didn't want to buy used because I'm way too particular about my vehicles. I don't want to inherit someone else's scratches, dings, rock chips, etc and there's no telling how hard they were driven and it's a safe bet that it was driven hard. So that left me with 2 options: buying off the lot and special ordering. I was trying to find any remaning '20s on dealer lots to save money by buying the "older" outgoing model, but there were literally none anywhere in the country and there certainly weren't any '21s with all my specs just sitting on a lot.

I special ordered a '21 GT Premium PP1 in Twister Orange with 401A package and 10 speed auto in June of '21 and I'm so happy I did. It suits the perfectionist in me: I get to build it to my specific specifications and I get the satisfaction knowing I'm the only one that has driven it.

I thought with the way the car industry is currently that I was gonna wait some ridiculous time like 6-12 months for it to arrive. Absolutely stunned when my saleswoman called me and said it arrived in August, less than 2 months to the date of my order. I don't know if it was luck or the fact I live 20 min north of the Flat Rock assembly plant where they're made, but I freaked with excitement!

The way I see it, I couldn't have ordered at a more perfect time. I think the current design is the sharpest, best looking Mustang since Gen 1. They came out months later and stated they're decreasing the '22s HP by 10, which isnt a lot and you prob wont notice it, but it's the principle of the matter; they weakened it, and didn't make it stronger. Plus I'm not 100% digging the design of the '23s. So it confirmed, for me, that buying a '21 was the perfect choice. 🌪🍊😎

Im a little late, but if you haven't found it yet, the additional -10 hp carbon filter they added is just inside the lid of the engine air filter box. I pulled it out on my 22 gt and left the plastic frame. If u want, you could cut the plastic out or just buy a lid for a 21 and swap it out.

I just walked in a Ford dealership today and bought one. I feel very fortunate to have my ideal color of choice and options all in stock the first day I went to look. Wasn’t even expecting to walk out with a car today but so far I have been nothing but pleased. Pushed her a little hard on one pull tonight but I think I’ll be keeping her under 4k RPM for the rest of the break in. I hope she is reliable and last a long long time. I have a dream of having this car as an old man in great condition and making it a show car. I’m 23 and I just started a Job at Ford corporate so I felt I had to make the switch :)

I just got a 2021 ecoboost with everything I wanted.. only I’m missing from the GT is the sound and the HP.. it only had 28miles on it, I’m the 1st owner, and paying $234 for 72 months at 2.7%. With the gas prices as they are now, I made the right choice.. I traded in a 187 hp Mazda3 so the ecoboost has Plenty of power for me 👍🏽

I have 18 gt 64k miles, no issues. I don't see anything different from the 2022 looks wise, just options

Got a 2021 anti-matter blue GT in March 2021. Auto. Best auto trans I have ever driven. Went in looking to trade my 2014 Mustang for a truck and left with another Mustang. Could not resist

2018-2022 are basically the same car minus some small minor changes such as colors, performance packages, roof aerial antenna, rev match, etc. I have a 2020 GT 6sp I bought last year with less than 2, 000 mile, literally a brand new car that was well cared for. It feels like a 2022 to me because it's like my weekend car and I don't drive it much.

I just placed my order for a '22 GT 401A 6spd. I wanted Recaros but I can't justify giving up the ac/heated seats lol

I ordered a 2022 mustang GT in late November and I’m still waiting for it to be delivered to the dealer. By the time I take delivery it will be half way through the model year!
