Between John gotti and Sammy gravano they kind of brought the mafia down between them, Gotti forgot that gangsters are supposed to live in the shadows. Carlo gambino set the perfect example.

I lived in New York in the late 80s. I was shocked that Mafia were still so active. A car bomb went off in my neighbourhood one day to kill a mobster and three people were shot dead in a restaurant whilst having lunch across the road from where I lived-and I lived a smart part of Manhattan.

Gotti was undone by his own narcissism and flamboyance.

He made a hash of his first hit and took a secret society public resulting in its downfall. He was an absolute joke!

Carlo was the real King of New York. Johnny boy never came close to that.

I call him Governor John, no matter what anyone says. I remember when John beat a case during the 1980s. I went to a Yuppie restaurant in Long Island City's Court Square section. There were dozens of young, drunk Gotti supporters yelling, ''John Gotti for governor'' at the top of their lungs. That's the way that I remember John Gotti.

Gotti was too flamboyant and let his temper and his pride ruin his career as a mob guy. He was the downfall of the Gambino family

Carlo was a perfect example of a boss died at home. Paul castellano in my opinion started the downfall he was living like a king while his guys suffered

Gotti was a clown. Sure he orchestrated the murder of a mob boss and took control of a major crime family. But he was way too cartoonlike to be taken too seriously

It was the RICO Act which crippled the mafia. It has been over used and over reached. It goes against fundamental human rights.
