Don't make this mistake when photographing at sunset or sunrise!

One of the biggest mistakes I see landscape photographers make is approaching every scene with only one lens in mind. Using your wide-angle lens is fantastic when the conditions are right, but often, having more in your scene hurts the image rather than helping it.

Use the proper amount of zoom to show off ONLY things that improve the image. If something doesn't improve the image, it should be cropped out. Especially when only one part of the sky is catching the best light, you should avoid including the other parts of the sky that may be boring or blown out.

Of course, just like every other tip I give you, this is just my opinion! Photography is an art, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
