Even English natives will get confused about this growing up 😅

That's why I usually like to say "not at all!"
Somehow that comes across clearly

I would usually answer like “no I do not mind” if I was asked that, so there’s no confusion! 😁

Whenever I heard this sentence, I always thought why do people answer in "Yes" ... the answer should actually be "No"... However I heard this always so thought may it's an idiom and I am wrong... but today I got this cleared that I'm right.
Thanks!

People would get mad at me if I said no to a question like this :(

it depends on the tone the "no" is said with. No can mean yes or no in this context. Native English speakers usually use "not at all" or "no, you can *insert contextual verb*" or "no problem". If you answer yes to the question, as in "yes I do mind, " you do not use "yes" but instead say "no, *insert contextual excuse or reason*"

Us native English speakers never get this right either so we usually just say 'sure' if we wanna let you do the thing

OH MY GOSH THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS OUT THERE. I hate it so much when people answer this question incorrectly. I need a clarification if they do mind, or don’t mind when saying yes😅

That's why, usually when someone asks that question to me, I say something like "go ahead" or "it's fine" that way there's no chance of confusion. It's a simple thing that really clears up communication.

I finally agree with one of your videos, saying yes in that situation makes it sound like you do mind that you sit there so saying no is better in this situation but it can mean both.

I've always used "no" as "I disagree" and "yes" as "I agree" and I'm learning Korean now so that's perfect
