My dad had pre-diabetes and ask the doctor if that was a concern. He replied with "nah, eventually everyone gets high blood sugar with age". This lead to diabetes of course. My dad was sick of the weight gain and daily insulin injections. I told him to start by cutting out sugar and carbs. Well, within 3-4 months, he lost a ton of weight and he is no longer diabetic. The medical industry is clueless

these destroy kidney function :
1 high blood sugar,
2 chronically high insulin levels,
3 uncontrolled high blood pressure,
4 taking anti-inflammatories on a daily basis,

5 consuming Tobacco in any form,
6 drinking too much alcohol on a continuous basis.
7 eating or drinking a high oxalate diet.

Thanks so much for all you and Neisha do.

I had a “nutritionist” after my BF came out of the hospital with HIGh blood Sugar and BP tell him to stop eating meat and eat more grains. I already knew because I followed a Keto diet. I lost my mind and told her “Why would you tell anyone this when carbs convert to sugar.” She was unphased and just stated she has been doing this for decades. We never went back. I put him on Keto diet and got his A1C from 13 to 7 in weeks. He was sleeping better, feeling better and losing weight.

My Dad doubled his kidney function when I got him eating a keto diet. (Low carb/sugars, high healthy fats) His nephrologist (in Missouri) was *thrilled* and baffled at the same time. He'd never seen such a reversal before. He asked what my dad was doing so he told him keto. The doc said he was definitely going to share this info with others. I was so proud of my dad for doing it and teaching a doctor this valuable info that could improve others' lives & save many from suffering needlessly.
(Edited to clarify the basic understanding of what a keto diet is)

According to a recent research, there is no safe amount of alcohol intake. And any alcohol intake is always a big deal.

I was diagnosed with second stage kidney disease. This shocked me because I had no idea what caused it. I did some reading and research and found that Wellbutrin, which I had taken for years, can elevate creatinine blood levels. I gradually went off the Wellbutrin and my creatinine levels completely changed with no sign of kidney disease. When I reported to my nephrologist what I found out and did, she got angry and practically threw me out of her office. I got over this as I had "cured" myself.

I nearly killed myself with a vegetable juice fast. I watched the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. I wanted to lose weight. I poisoned myself with oxalates to the point I was hospitalized twice in 12 months. The doctors blamed genetics and a host of other things like allergies and such. Not one time did anyone ask about diet. Once I stopped juicing and reintroduced meat and dairy, which displaced the vegetables, my health returned to normal. I currently don't eat vegetables or grains at all. At 57, I'm healthier than I've ever been as an adult.

I've been very low carb & low oxalate for about a year and a half. My asthma is gone, eczema totally cleared up, I'm off of insulin now, was able to lose over 80lbs without much exercising (I'm disabled.) Even my severe arthritis has improved. All of my labs were checked regularly and everything is excellent & improved. This is the only study I need to prove to me that low carb works. My study of one has converted me for life. THANK YOU, DR BERRY!!!

After being on a low-carbohydrate diet for a number of years? My M.D. exclaimed… “You have the kidneys of a teenager!” (I am age 67).

I've been diagnosed with stage 3 ckd last year, and doctors told me to stop exercising and eat plant based cauliflowers and stuff, no meat, no salt etc. And with months my blood results start to come out even worse everytime. This year at one point I stopped their recommended diet and gave up. I started eating meat similar to keto but that defined, low on carbonhyrade high on protein on a casual level, started light exercises walking, swimming, yoga level and my last blood work came out way better than when I was following the so called renal diet.

I am an RN with a master's degree in nutrition. I can attest that all these things were taught in nutrition classes in the 1990's. I believed all these fallacies until I began researching keto diets a few years ago because I was becoming obese and no amount of calorie counting helped and I had several patients who had lost weight and become healthier on keto. Tracking down research articles and framing searches for the correct topics can be an arduous task, so it was taking a while. Then I found a treasure trove of research articles (this channel) that were right on point!! Thanks Dr. Berry! In the last year I have lost 70 pounds on carnivore. My ulcerative colitis has been silent, my eczema is getting better. I tried adding a few keto-friendly home garden vegetables over this past summer, but I had problems with regaining weight, eczema got worse in spite of spending more time in the sun... Long story short, I'm back on full carnivore.

My best friend died from end-stage renal failure last December. He had no idea he was a diabetic until he was in the hospital. It was awful to watch him die. Now my doctor said I have potential for it, so this video helped me a lot. My kidneys weren't getting enough water so Im drinking up. Thanks for the great video!

Love your work Dr! 11 months ago i was morbidly obese at 130kgs (286.6lbs). I had so many chronic symptoms: kidney pain in the morning (toxic kidneys from being pre-diabetic), fuzzy vision, heart palpitations, chronic inflammation, achilles tendinitis, knee arthritis, swollen prostate, dermatitis and the list goes on. I started keto and intermittent fasting OMAD (one meal a day) and within just a couple of months all my symptoms started disappearing. Now 11 months later i have lost 25kgs (55lbs) and slowly dropping as i have hit a plateau and i feel like i'm 20 again! I'm 44 years old. ALL....i repeat, ALL my chronic symptoms i was having are LONG GONE!!! My fasting glucose went from 6.5 to 5.2! My A1C is within normal levels and triglycerides are 0.7. My blood work has never been so good, ever! I am so fit and healthy that i've never felt like this before. I ride a mountain bike and i do up to 80kms (50 miles) on a ride. I will NEVER go back to carbs and sugar and grains! They are literally POISON for your body! Over time not overnight. Of course i have my cheat days but they are far and few between. Because i don't feel the need to go back to my old diet. Sometimes i just want to eat a pizza or Korean fried chicken. But because of the shift of balance i have created for my body, it has almost zero impact on me when i eat pizza or other unhealthy things because it rarely happens. It's all about balance....and i have strongly shifted my body's balance to the healthy side! Dr. Ken Berry, i thank you from the bottom of my heart for making these videos to educate people around the world and get them healthy! We need to shift our cultural beliefs and get back on the healthy horse! Cheers from Australia.

These doctors don't like to be challenged. I got one that got rid of me for respectfully questioning something about my health care. I just go to them when I need to and take what I learn from you guys here on YT and apply what's best to my needs. Thanks for this info. It's life saving ❤

I've had three lithotripsies and 12 horrendous, ineffably agonizing kidney stone events, I've bounced from ParkAvenue Dr to 5th Avenue Dr in Manhattan ... then my sweet, smart nephew discovered KETO and told me about it and about you. For 3 years I haven't touched all the improper human foods that I didn't think I could live without and my entire life has changed, all for the better, way, way better. Additionally, I haven't had a kidney stone since! I love my nephew, and I love you, Dr. Ken Berry. God bless you and your growing family and your beautiful wife. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Almost everyone my entire life always tried to drill into me "you need to eat less meat" but ever since I was a kid, I felt like I needed meat to be a mainstay of my diet. I was always the kid at family dinner who had a big chunk of roast or burgers without buns or just steaks and not much else. I never liked hot dogs and sausages on bread etc either. I was repeatedly scolded by everyone, but I didn't care. Lol. I have the most energy and feel the best mentality and physically when I consume meats. It's nice to see not only a well respected doctor, but an experienced one who isn't bought and sold to peddle narratives just telling it like it is right out here for everyone. Meat and spices are my thing!
