If you have a good job, keep it! Pay off debt and don't live above your means -- try to get a side hustle, too...be resourceful and refuse to give up!

I wanted work recently. I spent a couple weeks brushing up on my Excel skills, made a sample Excel dashboard, posted it to my Facebook and got work. 2 clients so far. It’s not full-time yet but I’m not the cheapest Excel worker out there either.

There’s work out there. $15/hr and part time. Chipotle in Jacksonville will hire you at $14.50 and give you 20-25 hours a week. Better have a roommate or working spouse.

A friend of mine got hurt on a job. She's in her early sixties. She got no compensation. Even after they paid for her surgery and physical therapy she went for 6 to 8 months before she was able to start looking for work. And there was nothing out there until she got hired at Kohl's during the holidays she made a total of 2, 400 last year. There is very limited work. Those retail jobs that you can get for $15 an hour? They'll work you for 5 hours one week and maybe 10 hours the next week. That's why they have a revolving door so you have to have three of those garbage jobs

They say there are no jobs. Yet, there is plenty of work to be done.

And after the recession (although to me it was during, because the recession was FAR longer, than the bean counters said), the ONLY reason I wound up NOT committing suicide, was because of the continued, extended UI, during the Obama administration and because, just weeks into planning my death, I was snatched up, by one of the biggest major food companies, that would come to mind. I seriously doubt any of that is still in swing and it is no longer a situation of just taking whatever you can barely tolerate. With companies not hiring and stores closing, left and right, there’s a gap nothing can fill.

Side Note: My narcissistic mother laughed at my situation. So, when she was down on her luck, after being strategically abusive, I was nowhere to be found. The economy divides the generations socially, psychologically and economically. A Boomer may laugh at a Gen X situation. But they’d BETTER be ready to cover their own 🐴.

People are spending less, biz are getting few customers and making less revenue, it only makes sense for them to halt hiring. We’re lucky if we can keep our jobs right now given so many companies are laying off thousands and closing stores. I am living way below means even when I am making a good income, and seriously learning about investing.

There are plenty of physical labor jobs that pay pretty good! But unfortunately most Americans can't do them or do not want them. And it's going to only get worse.

Hard would imply that it is possible. Getting hired is impossible.

Great ! Now we are starting to see how robots have replaced human workers !And A I are going to replace computer engineering, All these tech jobs are going to be gone. They will have to adapt and re-education themselves, and that going to be huge process !! Knowing when and how to adapt to newer skills!! GOOD LUCK !

Remember when wages went up?
( before covid not after .... obviously that's already been too long ago for some to remember)

And yet we've got 254, 00 new jobs just last month. If someone can't find a job in this economy, he's not really trying to get a job.
