Those jobs don't have health and dental insurance, and we need that, so yes, people have to be picky about jobs just because buying insurance privately is expensive and U.S Healthcare insurance is trash.

Nah most people just want upward mobility and they realize that 90% of jobs do not give you skills that assist you in getting higher paying jobs

NO SIR! NO SIR! NO SIR!!!
I'm a millwright. That is a SKILLED TRADE! Anywhere from 12-16 hrs in every element. It was once a top paid skill. It dropped down to McDonald's wages once the pandemic hit. Don't you dare feed that line of crap. Contractors and fab shops DONT WANT TO PAY

Look man make the benefits worth it...we shouldn't kill ourselves for a job for little money, no insurance and barely putting food on the table.

Nothing wrong with that mindset! We aren’t slaves to businesses.

Yea why not. I've put my time in working those slave jobs. Where managers talk to you like a dog, people always calling out, managers expect you to cover the shift with no incentive at all. No appreciation or anything.

Idk man when I was looking for a job it was hard, kept getting turned down, no phone calls back so after a week when YOU call they are irritated . The jobs I finally did get would hang up the phone on people asking about their interviews. It’s horrible I took a pizza job and a cashier job. Minimum wage no benefits. They treat you like shit and so do costumers and so does everyone else when you tell them where you work.

Eh. I’m a professional in my field and I left this year after being unable to find anywhere that treats me like a human being. I paint now. Fuck it, I’m done being treated like dirt. I do good, honest work.

Jobs don't pay a living wage anymore that's the real problem. Working for less than $35 an hour is basically volunteer work

Yeah nah man. Ppl are willing to take these undesirable job they just wish they were compensated properly for the work they do which is not the case. And these less than desirable jobs are often important ones too that keep services going for the well the country yet for some reason our society has decided nah we're gonna exploit them. Terrible work environment and conditions, low wages, back breaking work, insane and sporadic scheduling, etc these are the reasons no ones wants those jobs and dreams of office work (which is also very difficult and draining in its own way too). So again its not that people don't want to work they just wish that for the hard work they do put in, regardless of where it is or what it is, they're getting paid enough to pay their bills, to have somewhere to live that you can afford thats not squalor ykno basic things everyone really should have

I beg to differ. I just moved to a new city & even retailers are being picky.

Your logic is no one wants a mundane or manual labor job then say everyone wants to do a mind numbing manual labor job for 32 dollars an hour. Ild say you are correct the cost of living demands 32 dollars an hour and no one is getting paid that so no one wants to work. It’s called feudalism when everyone pays rent to the landlords and we work for food and shelter. You will own nothing and you will be happy. Resistance is futile. Obey your masters. An honest days pay for an honest days work.

The problem is the cost of living is at all time in many areas. Especially in the cities. Rent, Groceries, Gas, Utilities, Internet, the Phone Bill... all have skyrocketed while wages and even salaries have stagnated. This is why people do not take fast food or call center type jobs. Those don't pay for anything which is even more amplified if you have a family or elderly relatives to take care of.

some office jobs are mentally draining

Man his view of office workers and their contribution shows he doesn’t really know what happens in an office… try working in a logistics office and then ask yourself if it’s a piece of cake job… reality is we want those high paychecks for the grind we have to go through.

False. Most minimum wage jobs don't pay enough money to live. Being eligible for food stamps while having a 40 hour a week job is not right. It's not laziness. It's simple economics. It's literally not worth someone's time to have a job that doesn't pay the bills.

i worked as a CSR for fast food for 4 years i did not see management for me with the environments i was around. in my state the minimum is still 7.25 i joined a college working as a "General utility" (dish washer + anything they wanted me to do because they didn't hire enough people for) for 15$ but after a few months i now learned there is no real upward mobility. if i come back after summer all i can do is become a cashier making the same amount or become a chef (not the best with all that different equipment they have) and still make the same wage. like im not going up im just moving horizontally to another occupation in the same place.

I've been working the same job since college, and i have had so many cases of customers mistreating me and my coworkers. Literally i do not go to work to be cussed at. The customer is not always right 🤦🏾
