Thanks for making a video on this topic and helping the Linux community grow! I've switched to Linux about 1.5 year ago, and I couldn't have been happier. I only boot into Windows rarely, when I have to use some software that doesn't work in Linux.

By the way, you forgot to mention that there is an option to dual boot, which means that you can have both windows and Linux on your drive and each time you power on your computer you will get asked which one to boot into.

1:28 Linux is not made by a company, it's made by a collective of open source devs.

Another reason why Linux is better: it doesn't have Candy Crush Saga pre-installed on your operating system.

You called Linux a company. You lost credibility with me for doing research right there.

no one hacks Linux(often), odds are the person can either :
A) deal with the issue themselves
B) hack you back..lol

As a Linux user myself, I don't really care about "beeting" Windows or Mac OS. I just want to make Linux better as an OS and as a community. While Linux dominates the server market and provides a foundation for Android, it will likely always be niche in the pc market, and that's ok with me.

I'll give a little story about how I've known for 20 years that Linux is better.

I was on a contract job at Abbott Labs back in '99 (not Y2K). We had to write several systems having to do with data retention and machine testing for federal compliance. A paranoid interpretation of digital signature law at the time said the code had to be HUMAN AND machine-readable. We took that to mean open source software. So we loaded up Suse Linux on a machine and started going at it. At one point in testing, my boss came and got me and said you have to see this. He had identical machines (company standard) side by side, one running Win98 and the other Suse. He had loaded up an animated GIF of Tux rocking back and forth and tapping his foot. The Linux machine was running more than twice as fast as the Win98 machine. Both were running Mozilla as a browser, so there was no difference there. It was all down to the OS and any coding differences between Linux and Windows Mozilla.
