The easiest way is to get underneath your car and put your phone on your gas tank. Turn the recording on sit in the car turn it do that a few times get out, playback the footage, put it up to your ear, your phone and see if you can hear the fuel pump turning on.

I usually don’t comment but you may have just helped me figure out the problem on my dads olds silhouette. Stalls throws a code for a MAF clear the code and it starts right back up. Changed MAF twice changed CPS twice n still doing this. I always thought that sound was the air pump in back because it was super loud and only came on after I clear the code. Super weird to explain

OK folks this is just a test to see if the fuel pumps motor is able to run or runs at all. It is not a test to verify the Fuel Pump is working! There is a huge difference between a fuel pump motor running and a fuel pump actually working. The difference is you have a specific fuel pressure when the Fuel Pump is WORKING. The only REAL test for a Fuel Pump is to check the pressure.

it can prove the fuel pump is making a noise..but not if it can maintain pressure or is blocked or a dozen other things, Even so, it can be a start as no noise can mean afailure ..or hearing aid issues?
