In this video, we're going to talk about what’s causing you to feel lightheaded on keto. If you feel lightheaded while doing keto and intermittent fasting, you are typically dealing with low blood volume or low blood pressure.

If you’ve recently switched to keto from a high-carb diet, your body was previously retaining fluid. Your body will get rid of the fluid, but will also get rid of important electrolytes in the process.

To prevent feeling lightheaded, you need to replenish your electrolytes. Try drinking water with sea salt. This can help increase your blood volume fairly quickly to eliminate feelings of lightheadedness. Don’t forget to increase your intake of the other electrolytes as well.

Drinking water without electrolytes can make you feel even worse because it further dilutes the electrolytes in your body.

If you're dealing with lightheadedness and you’re not on a ketogenic diet, this could be a sign of weak adrenals, anemia, or low blood sugar.

This video just saved my life! Okay, probably not, but it gave me the literal solution to this evening struggle I had on my 3rd day of keto, the slight shock my system's experiencing, and some physical discomfort related to my breathing and lightheadedness.

Please don't forget that salt and fat are necessary on this diet! 10 minutes later and I'm already feeling back to normal. Stay grounded if this happens, and give your body what it needs

I was looking for "light-headedness + fasting" expecting your videos on dizziness and lightheadedness to pop up. I was shocked that they were not on the list of suggestions, even though I scrolled all the way down. I had to write Dr Berg's name. I think it is a terrible youtube disservice to people! Thanks to you Dr Berg, I have lost weight, got rid of my eczema, got rid of sluggishness and bloating, and got back my sharp mind. Thank you!!

Day 2 of keto. I've been drinking only lemon water. I was very hangry this morning. Coffee and coconut oil relieved it a little. Then I realised maybe I need to drink more normal water. I did exactly this. Half a teaspoon of sea salt to a glass of water and a spoon of coconut oil. I came good almost instantly.

Been two weeks on IF. Just an hr ago this happens to me, lightheaded, very sluggish and shivering. Medic told to drinks electrolytes and water with sea salts. Make sense. Thanks for the tips

Pink Himalayan salt is loaded with minerals. You can make an electrolyte mixture called "sole" and add it to your drinking water. It tastes delicious, with ACV and lemon juice

I added the salt o my acv potassium drink in the am-it really works! After being told for years not to eat salt. Yes it was Himalayan pink! Lol

I've been on Keto for 8 months and have lost 25 pounds so far. I'm 60 years old and work out twice a week and walk daily for an hour. I started to feel lightheaded about 4 months ago and struggle with focus and concentration when reading. Balance and vertigo are not an issue, but I just feel off most of the time. I'm going for blood tests and will visit an ENT as well if this persists. I'm curious if other people are struggling with these side effects?
I just have added a 1/4 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt to a glass of water and really hoping that this helps. We appreciate the information that you are providing, thank you.
