I'm a little confused because I had bad and slow sectors on my 16Gb flash stick, I force wrote over those sectors inverting from 0-1 repeatedly until it worked again. I thought this is only possible with magnetic storage. If the transistors die with usage, why were mine restored? Really weird.

Nice video but doesn't actually explain how nand memory works, i'm guessing it's some kind of magnetized p/n process? also does anyone know why it oxides why is oxygen present in the semiconductor?

Update:Literally took me 10 minutes to work out how it works, its n-/p/n-n+, they need to replace the missing ions to stop the degradation it won't matter what material the floating gate is made out of it will always degrade no matter what and making it smaller will speed up the degradation
