The head of Microsoft's Windows division says there will be no more new features or hardware for Windows 10 Mobile.

It's sad. It was a gorgeous UI and a very slick OS that just failed to gain traction. Tough market!

The interface is one of the best and cleanest. Windows should at least create their own launcher.

Microsoft made a great mobile OS and some phones, but it really sucked at its marketing; something they haven't mastered after so many failures. There's a long line waiting to pay 999 bucks for an iPhone X even if it isn't perfect... Go figure!

The Windows 10 mobile UI is something that should be revisited at a later time. It's biggest problem for low percentage of users was the app gap. If Windows phone had come out 5 years earlier nearer to the infancy of smartphones it could have been a whole different story.

This was never a problem!! These ignorant reports are....Whoever uses a WP loves the simplicity, speed and beauty of the UI. I've used every kind of OS and this is by far the easiest and most pretty of all....You can say what you want, but surface will prove you wrong. They were planning to differentiate from the Mobile platform and have an all in one device. There will be mobiles running Windows 10+

I have used WP for 2.5 years after using Android for 5 years. Since 6 months I am using Samsung A7. I must say that nothing can compete Nokia 1520 in performance and AI (Cortana). Simply excellent. I regret that day when I it got broken. Things which latest Android are using were actually present in 3 years old WP like glance screen, high MP cameras, AI integration (Android still far behind) etc.

Sad to see Windows Phones die off. I never purchased one but it always peaked my curiosity. These devices had awesome and in some features ahead of its time. I'd be interested in a different platform that wasn't iOS or Android. I feel like it would cool to have a third OS

I appreciate the story, but there is something inaccurate right before the signoff. Windows HoloLens does not run Windows 10 Mobile. It runs Windows Mixed Reality, which is still very much alive.

Microsoft will be the next IBM....Once a juggernaut of the tech world but slowly drowning in their own pride and failing to truly innovate. Change is inevitable in the tech industry and windows mobile is the tip of the iceberg. Just a thought!

Microsoft bought so many thousands of PATENTS on the last two decades but still can't do any thing that could last as long as Windows desktop (and for notebooks) and the Office package service.
