Great advises, I remember when I decided to switch my career 2 years ago, after online courses and few personal projects I did the same. I saw job posting from one company who searched someone who can do what I could, but I didn't have experience and I was not confident they will choose me from all applicants.

So I find company in linkedin, contacted creative director and wrote him that I'm so interested in their job post and would like to know with whom I can talk regarding that job posting, in 2 hours he replied with person's name and email, and imagine how easy it was for me to write to that person and telling in the email that his email I got from their creative director :)

For smaller companies I would suggest finding someone who you see is active on linkedin (has fair amount of connects with people/comments or likes other posts). Those people even if they are not related to posted job can see your message and (in a small company) just ask responsible person for the hire (even just of curiosity for them-self) and that might help you to get a reply from a company.

Brad love your videos and thanks for sharing them!
