MSFS 2020/2024 Side By Side Comparison. Which is better? #microsoftflightsimulator #msfs2020

It's time to take my first look at Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and in today's video we'll be doing a side by side comparison of MSFS 2020 & 2024. We'll be departing London Heathrow in the Fenix A320 on the ULTIB 1J SID in both Simulators. Let's see which sim looks and performs the best - my sim settings and PC specs are below. Settings in both Simulators:
Terrain LOD - 150
Objects LOD - 200
All other settings - HIGH

PC Specs:
Intel i5 -14500
Nvidia RTX 4070 Super
32GB DDR5 4800mhz RAM

I can honestly say that 2020 looks best on console than 2024 does. If only they were to provide an udpate on 2020 that has the same night lighting that 2024 does, 2020 would blow it out of the water for sure!

Lighting in 24 is definitely better as are the ground asset qualities but if you're an airline flyer there's not much more to offer currently. I'd say if you're all about the campaign modes or a bush pilot then 24 is a worthwhile upgrade.

I'm sure at some point I'll make the switch to 2024 but right now I'm very happy flying the PMDG 737 in 2020, I'm gratefull for this video as it shows that for now I'm not missing much sticking with 2020 whilst not having to put up with all the current glitches in 2024. Night lighting and sky colour is still way better in XP12, especially with a few mods, it's literally a light and day difference - apologies for the pun! From what I'd heard the night lighting in 2024 had improved massively but from the evidence of this video it's only a small improvement. Little bit disappointed but I'm sure 2024 will improve over time...

Definitely a headache at first but I got 24 dialed in and all of the korks ironed out. BATC with fsltl, ported most of my addons over and am in love

24 looks better, however, with the issues 24 is still having, for heavy tin IFR it looks like 20 is still the best option. For low and slow, including bush, 24 seems to be the best option. Thanks for the video. 😊

I own 20 and 24 as well as most since the early 1990s.

High altitude flying is not the best case for comparing 20 and 24.

A side by side comparison is better with a propeller plane close to the ground at 200-300 feet and highlights the capability of my gaming rig. This shows the difference in trees and buildings. Fly from Reagan Intranational airport in DC, then fly low over the Mall. The difference in buildings such as the Capital and The Lincoln Memorial are considerable with 24 showing bricks. Yes I understand that major landmark get some extra attention to detail by the developer.

Try a side by side comparison of other less known locations and the improvement level of detail for trees is amazing. Water and water reflections are much better in 24 also.

I am definitely in. I think 2024 is going to work out fine, but patience is required. This is unlike any other 'software' and you can tell they are working very hard behind the scenes.

yep guys pls follow the trap and go to 2024 sim then I have empty servers for nice textures on 2020. 2024 is a game for kids. 2020 a sim for simmers

certainly 2024 appears better at some points (if you are focused and studing both images carefully without the issues of actually flying - in reality when you fly and are busy with that aspect both look the same) however in the video there are a few points where there is stutter in 2024 but 2020 is smooth all the way through - infrequent and small as the stutter may be it kills the immersion. I have tried 2024 but at the moment I am still getting a smoother better performance in 2020 (same settings) - I think in time it will come of age but I think they will relax the streaming content before that happens

I don't really see a difference. I will say the placement of autogen trees in 2024 is way exaggerated and sometimes in places it shouldn't be.

I'm having some Stuttering and weird lag in MSFS 2024, is due to problems in the sim rn ? Or i should do a chekup on my desktop ?

Can't say there is a massive difference if I'm honest!. Lightning is better in 2024.

FS2024 is a massive upgrade. Much better quality and quantity textures, increased detail and resolution. There's nothing to say about FS2020. Rest in peace.

If you fly off in enough you can definitely tell that 2024 is more realistic from the sky

I have 2020 and 24 and I feel this video is comparing a high quality 2020 to a busted version 2024 because 2024 isn’t ready yet. It’ll come out to be a great game though but as of right now 2020 is definitely on top with all the detail features with clouds and weather for sure.

I think 2024 looks better, but what a nightmare of a sim everything has changed! Just getting to grips with 2020, my first flight in 2024 crashed mid air for no apparent reason.

Great video but I'll never see the point of updating/purchasing FS2024, esp as an airliner sim pilot. I'm guessing there are so many addons that make FS2020 nearly as good.
