Just to clarify: if fasted exercise is working for you by all means do NOT change what your doing. But if tinkering with a small amount of food prior to your exercise helps you have a better workout—that will lead to more sustained metabolic health and fat loss over the long term.

Female experience here: I used to workout on empty stomach and had many hormonal issues (even lost my period). When I changed the approach and started working our after normal breakfast, everything changed.

It's so important to have a good workout via eating a good meal as a pre because it builds a good relationship and attitude towards working out.

I hate eating before the exercises. I get tired fast 💁🏼‍♀️

Not surprising. But I prefer fasted cardio, eating before a workout makes me tired and bloated.

As a beginner with little to no fitness and overweight, I am not obsessed with training fasted because my priority is gaining strength and endurance in my resistance training. Once I feel strong enough I might start fasting before my workouts. Thanks for your video.

I've been training in the morning for so many years that it's just how I do it. I used to have yogurts before leg days, but now it's just coffee. I get in some Himalayan salted Gatorade and L Argenine before running

This point is exemplified for me after I completed a 6 day extended fast. The morning after refeeding I couldn’t believe how many extra pull-ups I was doing without much effort. Which showed me it was energy not muscle limitations effecting my workouts.

Anecdotally speaking, if I do a fasted workout, I am 100% likely to over eat after. When I eat and then exercise, I generally don’t eat anything after my workout except maybe a protein shake or some lean protein meat. Nice to see there’s some science to back up my experience!

The #1 reason I prefer to run fasted is because eating even small amounts first seems to guarantee I get a side stitch.
#2 is because I don't want to have to go #2 while I'm out running.

This backs up what I've found.
A.M. "fasted" slow run/walk suck, but set up the day of replenish glucose stores.
Afternoon/evening workout high intensity/hour+ would be great.
That combo during the work week helped training for my best times trail marathon, without a doubt my highest level of fitness.

I do fasted cardio in the morning, and then a weight session in the afternoon after eating my meals. I guess everyone needs to do what works best for them.

Instead of looking at how many calories you burn during your workout, we should pay attention to what kind of adaptation the exercise will make in our body. If you work to build muscle tissue, your baseline metabolism will increase for the whole day, every day.

Can’t run, or do explosive ; intense exercise due to adrenal fatigue; high stress job, personal life; etc.
things are finally getting better ☺️
Walking in fat burning zone 1-2 x a day for about 45- 50 min each walk.
Fasted for first walk early am. After I eat; ( fasted 18-20 hours) walk right away. Don’t feel hunger until 2-3pm and it’s not terrible hunger. IF for 22 years so so used to not being hungry.
Month ago started to include an after dinner walk for 30 min. ( 3 rd walk) I hear it lowers glucose spikes.
Don’t know if I’ll ever be able to run again. ( running injuries, and rotator cuff triceps injuries so no lifting ) and the adrenal burn out makes it hard to know what to do. Did very low carb for year and half, made me anxious, moody, and sleep issues and no weight loss . I recently had a serving of rice twice last week and my mood changed; had more energy for my evening walk and slept better. So what you are saying makes sense to me tonight. It’s just that in past exercise in fasted state worked so well for me. I’m not as young though so things change.
Not sure if I’ll be able to drop the 12- 15 lbs by walking. It’s all I can do right now. I am going to incorporate bike riding to change it up. Great video as always. Great content. I Love hearing this info.

I’ve tried to do fasted workouts many times, but my performance was always much worse. So now I always eat first and work out an hour or so afterwards.

Fasted cardio did work for fatloss for me but I simply couldn't stand doing it that way sadly.

I've been following your fasting exercise videos and have become alot leaner over the last 6-8 months, also noticed a drop off in energy during morning fast, so i started weight workouts 3-4 hours after waking, i also walk 90 minutes every other day, I'm happy to hear and incorporate your micro adjustments to this plan

100% spot on.... You get from the gym what you POUND into. Each session.
However as a previous NABBA competitor we did low carb, fasting workouts ALL THE TIME BEFORE COMPETING and it sure as hell seemed to work in the weeks and months right beforehand.
I once dropped 7% of body fat in the month before and then another 2%the weeks before.
Perhaps more studies need to be done but ask any NATURAL BB and they'll tell you the same.
Maybe a bulletproof coffee first thing but nothing more than that! 🤗
Love your interesting videos man.
