Thank you for clarifying this for people. I see people being shamed because they can’t afford to buy grass fed beef. Yeah, in a perfect world we all could raise our own, but it doesn’t happen that way. And the prices they are charging for grass finished Beef is absolutely insane.

I think the argument for grass fed is, for the most part, about supporting local/small farmers over large corporations & the conditions under which the cows are kept. Overall, we should all eat the best real food that we can afford & stop buying manufactured food stuffs.

Glad u said this most people have no understanding of the fact that these cattle are only FINISHED in the lot.. Drive thru states like Montana and see all the miles and miles of beautiful grazing land .. it’s honestly amazing !

I started semi - dirty keto in June 2020 (strict keto but dirty) and within 10 months, I lost 103 pounds of bodyweight. I also corrected my prediabetes and joint inflammation. I did this using bacon, eggs and ground beef (steak mince in the UK). I'm into my fourth year and intend to never stop eating the proper human diet. Thanks Doc.

As a livestock farmer, one more thing must be said. Grass-finished lamb or any other meat for that matter, without grain, is LEAN, which can and often is very TOUGH, so you can't get 'fatty grass finished' meat. You only get FAT from grain, never from pasture or just hay.

When they're telling you grass fed/or grass finished.. Legally they can say that when it was only THE LAST 30 DAYS OF IT'S LIFE. So.. I'd be pretty hesitant to believe some of what's being sold at the outrageous prices they're getting for it.

Very good way to explain this, I have 14 pounds of grass fed finished ground beef delivered every 6 weeks price locked. I find Angus on sale when shopping, I need to incorporate more fish. ❤

Grass fed cows also come from all around better farms. I trust a farmer more who isn’t cutting corners at the expense of the cow’s health and ultimately ours.

The "marbling" of the meat is what tenderizes it plus the fat is what adds great tasting beef.

I've eaten pure grass fed and I absolutely hated the taste. So I'm ok with the grain finished.

Does anyone else think that ground beef from grass fed/grass finished cows has a little more firm/rubbery texture to it when chewing? I think the grain fed ground beef of equal fat content has a better texture and slightly better taste. I buy and eat both and like them both, but slightly prefer the grain fed.

being cheap doesn't bother me one bit. Just yesterday I bought 28 lbs of beef chuck roll sub primal, 19 lbs of pork shoulder and a10 pound bag of chicken hind quarters. Total cost was $165. Cut it all up and now 1 lb packages in my freezer and I am good for 40-45 days.

Grass fed grass finished cattle is essentially a gimmick to make more money. Cattle have always been fed grain because they've always been a domesticated animal. They were domesticated at the same time agriculture began and usually farmed in coordination with (or by the same)the agricultural farmers. Grass finished is very healthy and has more cla and omega 3 but grain finished also has some advantages such as more monounsaturated and ala.

I feel like the ideal flavor and health wise would be a family/cooperative owned farm with cattle remaining on pasture their whole lives, but maybe having a 1/4–1/3 of their diet supplemented with grains the last 2-3 months of their lives for some good marbling.

If you’re worried about the Omega 6to Omega 3 ratio, just eat a serving of salmon or sardines a week and you’ll be fine.
