Grass-fed vs. Grain Finished Ribeye Blindfold Challenge | Carnivore Diet Taste Test

We test out a Costco Grain Finished Ribeye steak versus a Whole Foods Grass-fed Ribeye Steak. The ultimate carnivore diet blindfold taste test! The steaks were fresh and marinated with just grass-fed beef tallow and Redmond Real Sea Salt. We cooked them to medium-rare on the grill. Once inside, we did a 3-person blindfold taste test. Two of the contestants were ancestral diet eaters, and one was a bonified all-meat carnivore dieter. Who could guess which steak was grass-fed and which was grain finished? Which steak tasted better? How much do they cost?

Yummm! Looks great! I'm a grass fed/grass finished girl. Just because of GMOs, glyphosate, etc...animal feeding operations...ya know. :D

Great analysis. And loved his recap… “If I could get locally sourced, humanely raised, GRAIN feed beef I would buy that for its flavor.” I would also add grain feed is unique for its softer (less walking around) texture. Bad for cows but great for taste. Thanks guys.

Guys, no offense but grass-fed still has 60 days of grain at the end and it completely reverts the fats to be less dense in nutrients. You need grass fed AND finished. I buy from farms, like Piedmontese etc. And you will pay for it but it is more dense in nutrients. And smells better while cooking. But you did not get the real experience here to actually sense the differences.
