Adam Savage's New $30 Blade Runner Blaster

Adam shows us his newest Blade Runner blaster replica--and one that only costs $30. This model by Elfin Knights is actually a water pistol, and an impressively modeled one at that! Replica prop builders and cosplayers have already started modifying this toy to give it some heft and realistic paint finishes. And of course, Adam has to test its water blasting capability!

Adam! this blaster was developped by Tagaki (you can see his name in the bag tag). Mr Tagaki himself is one of the first world fans to study the BR blaster, he discovered the the revolver used for the basis was the Bulldog and the rifle parts where from a SSG Steyr years before Phil and Rich did. Of course Coyle and Steincheider where the first ones to figure out how to build and actual replica using original parts by actually machining them after casting some in resin to make a prototype. This was alter used by the Tomenosuke team to make his own replica. But Mr Tagaki was a true pioneer here and I think he deserves our recognition :)

Today's my birthday, and my girlfriend surprised me with this water pistol. It is SO AWESOME! :D
She got it after I showed her this video a few weeks ago.
I live in Austria, so she went through quite some trouble to get it from Japan (apparently there's a guy who knows a guy who can buy it for you and sends it back), through customs and shipped here, because even shipping unreal weapons can cause real problems.

I think it's so cool that a fellow with all the resources Adam has and all the high-end versions of this prop he already owns, can still get so excited over a water pistol iteration. And, yes, the average price now on eBay is $50, with Monsters In Motion also ripping people off at $60 each (incl. shipping).
