Adam Savage's Favorite Tools: Ratchet and Socket Set!

Показать описание

Adam gripes about something everyone who's worked with sockets can relate to: having an incomplete set because the cases they're stored in aren't any good. That's why he's a fan of Milwaukee's ratchet and socket sets, which are stored in a robust and thoughtfully designed carrying case. What are tools you own that have great storage cases?

At 3:33 Adam is presenting us with two complete socket sets and says "They drive me nuts"

I love the way Adam is agressive with this tools, throwing and banging them around when showing them to us. Feels like a 5 year old that comes running towards you with some random thing he found on the ground.

It's not neglect in any way, it's passion. He genuinely loves his stuff.

Milwaukee: Our tool shipping cases are so good, they are an Adam Savage Tool Tip, not a One-Day-Build to store them.

Your enthusiasm for appreciating small but important details in life lends strength to all of us that may be struggling. Thank you Mr. Savage.

It's almost like the guys in Milwaukee actually asked the people who use their tools " How can we make it better?" then applied that information into their product build. I like the way the socket set can be removed from the case to fit into a chest, great design and Great video Adam .

My fathers ancient socket set had a stamped metal case and it was super slim an eveything fit perfectly. Perfect example of "They just dont makr them like they used to."

I adore Adams enthusiasm. Also, the moment he opened the socket boxes I went are those square!?" I don't even need sockets and I want them.

Although I'm not a maker or craftsman of any kind, I totally appreciate the attention to detail and Adam's excitement about something as simple as this is absolutely infectious, because these details are usually the kinds of things that excite me the most.

My biggest pet peeve: the "Living Hinge" which inevitably fails on all the typical Craftsman-level socket sets. Thanks for the video Adam!

they are squared (or faceted) to allow you to use a crescent or standard wrench on them. That's the main reason. Not rolling as much is just an added benifit.

It makes me so happy to see someone so passionate about quality and attention to detail.

As a designer, I’ve been really impressed with Milwaukee tools for a while. They find room for useful and thoughtful innovation in almost every tool they release. I’m so invested in Makita for 18v tools, but if I had to do it all over again, I’d go Milwaukee all the way. I’ve been trying to work up the right excuse to get their socket sets... I may have to donate my current sets. Or accidentally leave them at a job or something.

When are the "Savage" Brand tools coming out? It sounds like this needs to happen. You have such strong opinions bout tools.

Adam, tell Milwaukee to etch the size on all four of those flats and I will immediately buy the sets. My pet peeve is having to spin sockets to see which is which size. I know I'm not the only one.
