Adam Savage's NEW Prop Sword

preview_player
Показать описание
Adam unboxes a screen-used prop sword gifted to him by viewers Christian and Tobias. Adam is particularly excited about this sword because it was designed by master swordsmith Peter Johnson and fabricated by the team at Albion Swords--both parties he's very familiar with. It's a chance for Adam to talk about his favorite attributes of film swords and what makes a good one for actors to wield!

Excellent! Christian and Tobi are well respected sword collectors in our community. Glad for you to have received and appreciated this blade so well.

You are very welcome, we were sure you would want one that showed a little use😂

I kept one for myself of course, as did Christian, sending you one kinda started as a joke, but as you know ended up happening, im surprised you did the video so fast😃

We are both happy to see the gift made you happe, that was all we were hoping for 😊

Chris here, sorry to be late to the party but I got stuck in hospital for a bit with neither cell reception nor wifi. I'm very happy you like the sword, as I suspected you might 😀. This model is called Stamford and is still available from Albion with a steel blade.

Peter Johnsson has designed all of Albion Sword's production lines of swords. They are all absolutely sublime.
That particular Arn sword is an Oakeshott type X viking style.

I also received one of these from Christian - he's a very respected and valued member of the sword community - he helps quite a few collectors track down rare items

I adore the line "Your work is very dangerous, sir". I hope I get to use it some day. This is my first time hearing that story.

I love Adam's amazingly highly tuned mega brain flicking the blade to hear it ring and he is figuring out by THE TONE what the metal is made up of?!?!?!?! You sir are amazing!

Such a nice gift and resulting show and tell! Thanks to both those who sent this to Adam and to Adam himself. Beautifull blade!

One again, Adam's utter failure to remember his own website address is my favourite part of this video.

I had a replica of the sword from the first Conon movie, I had the catalog and a letter asking if I wanted the sword because the seller had gotten a letter from the movie production company telling the to stop making and selling the replica because they didn't have permission. Lost it all in a fire in 2012.

I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out where your cave is. It was a challenge. And after I did, I wondered to myself, if I ever find myself in San Francisco again, should I visit? And I immediately said… hmmm probably not. That probably wouldn’t be a good thing to do, as much as I might like it, you probably wouldn’t like an unannounced visitor just showing up. Good to have that question answered, so that I am no longer tempted… if I ever visit San Francisco again.

You waiting on your drawers to dry is certainly more entertaining than any time I have ever waited on my drawers to dry.
