W the s60r you gotta be careful that there isnt a coolant error code. Cracked cylinder sleeves are super common as they warp with heat on unshimmed motors so they are even more likely if youre running a tune.

I’ve been daily driving my 2013 WRX for 10 years now. Other than regular wear and tear issues, she’s been perfect. Reliable af. Take care of your car and it’ll take care of you, I don’t care what brand you buy.

S60/v70r have some Awd issues but they are awesome. People push 450+ without opening the motor.

I bought a 2.4 swapped S60R at auction for $1400. Put on a hybrid turbo, 4 inch intake, fmic, audi rs4 maf, tune, and I make about 400whp for under $3000!

They have a video on their channel showing how their engines blew, mostly the break in period but it's not the cars fault

As someone with a p3 s60RD. Don’t forget about us. It’s a cross between a s60R and a s60 polestar and has the glorious Volvo straight 6 turbo

Tip to wrx/sti guys buy new and treat it right. Do oil changes every 2k miles and all other maintenance in half the recommended intervals and it will last. If you do a good tune with just a TBE it will last at that power level. I've blown several ej20's and ej257's but they were all high horsepower and I drove them hard.

If you stay in the 300whp range and do preventative maintenance it will last. My buddy Mark has had his Hawkeye since new and all be has is a TBE, injectors, and a tune he's still on the original motor with 147k miles @290whp

I really like my fbo g37x. It runs on e85 and is a sedan. Super good in the snow. Literally never had any problems in the 50, 000+ miles I’ve driven it!

I has a 2004 s60r for a while. A beautiful 1 owner car that I got for much cheaper than I should have. I wish to this day I had treated it better and been able to keep it around. Absolutely amazing car and well worth picking up.

B9 Audi S4. Stage 1. That's all I needed to do. 034 motorsports launch control is slick.

Been pushing a Taurus SHO last couple months. That Ecoboost is no joke. The awd and Godspeed coil overs let it eat corners.

Tips for Subaru drivers, treat it good, don't get one with a turbo, and you'll be fine. 90 percent of the old subies you see on the road today are NA cars that were taken care of, the other 10 percent are rebuilds.

For the Volvo: they’re fantastic underated cars, but the S60R/V70R in particular can get pretty pricy when it comes to maintenance (use FCP Euro parts that aren’t marked “Genuine Volvo”, you can find the exact same parts from the same parts manufacturers on FCP for literally half the price or less, plus you get a free lifetime warranty). The S60R/V70R have a bored aluminum block from the T5 models which led to the cylinder walls being too thin for additional power without first installing aftermarket cylinder sleeves and shims. A popular engine swap is the T5 engine from +06ish S60’s because they have all the internals from the R with the block’s original 2.4L displacement, negating the cylinder wall issue. The 4C suspension is really nice, but like a lot of fancy electronically adjustable struts they don’t last as long as the conventional alternatives (this isn’t an issue if you’re slapping on coilovers anyway, but if you want to replace the 4C struts it’s going to set you back $1, 600 for all 4 corners). The last thing is that the angle gear that puts power to the rear wheels isn’t rated for higher power and can break, although out of all the drivetrain components to replace this one is supposedly simple. Upgrading to a gen3 haldex controller will greatly improve the delay older haldex cars have when you need them to put power to the rear.

My 2002 Audi A8, and 04 S4 quattro are the best awd I've ever owned...because they're the first and only I've owned 😏

Bro the amount of videos I see of people I see cracking in about Subarus mine is still running absolutely perfect to this day and it’s on 200, 000km. All proof that Subarus are great cars if you do right by them
