I REALLY miss the Evo. It was truly a giant killer; especially when it finally came to the US. Now that the awd sports compact sedans from Japan are basically gone (no evo or STI), the only car that currently seems like a worthy evolution of this car is the RS3. The little Audi carries a serious hammer with its 5 cylinder engine, but it's unfortunately a lot less financially attainable.
Ah, well... maybe something interesting will appear in the next few years...
The good news is that, without a serious compact awd sedan to drool over, it does free up the budget to work on the

I’m glad I got one while I could. Out of production since 2015. There were only about 22, 000 evo X’s sold in the US throughout its 7 year production, which is nowhere near as much as other performance cars. It makes evos so rare. Just for comparison, Subaru sold about 282, 000 WRX/STI’s from 2002-2018 in the US.

So true, people were against changing the 4g63 but don’t let nostalgia get in the way of progress. The 4b11 was an amazing engine and a step in the right direction.

I love my X so much dude. Had it for 3 years and Before I blew the first motor it ran 33 PSI on stock internals for 2 YEARS!!! Now its back on more stock numbers at 22 (Reliability) but man did that shit used to fly. I eventually want to sell it so I can get an Evo 3 tho, thats the dream 😂

I dont care if evo X or I-IX or Ralliart i wish i could have any one of them, i have a base model lancer with diesel engine and im really glad i bought one with my first paycheck and i hold onto it till i can

I get people love older iron Japanese Blocks but sometimes people tend to bash the newer motors which have many improvements and a lot of capability

Glad I got my evo10. It was the EV o I wanted the most mostly because it looks better IMO with a better interior barring the scrappy head unit. But the one I got has a killer alpine head unit with a floating screen.

Have owned Evo 7, 8 MR and 9 GSR and built the 9 and it made 768kw atw I have bought the X around 6 months ago and can already confirm that I would say it is better than the 4g platform in every way they took the 4g and improved much like how the 2j was the improvement from the 1j.

I love the way the Evo 9 Jap spec looks and no other Evo competes with the styling of the car but The X is better in every way.

Fun little fact as well the Evo X styling was based off the JDM 9 if you look at the key features such as the open aggressive grille, bumper ducts and the bottom half of the rear bar having a diffuser type look to it, you can tell that they took a lot of nostalgic ideas off the 9 and modernised it on the 10

The Evo V may be my favourite, but Tanner Foust could go full send in the X just as well, so despite everything it has to be a good enough Rallye car.

Definitely nice engine however it's hard too beat a 6 bolt 4g63 block, the things are bullet proof, I feel the technology should of been put forward to the 4g63 just re amped !

I made 502who on my evo 9 stock block and stock turbo with 26psi I was pushing that stock turbo to its limit and it lasted 2 years like that until I shredded my t-case lol so I tore it apart and put M rods, M pistons and crank with a FP black turbo now I’m at 760 whp on 17psi it can make 900 but I want it to be some what reliable
