This Fantastic island has had so much #history from the #Romans, #Portuguese, #Arabs and the british, A true cultural mixing pot with so many influences including the french.
The #indian ocean ir renowned for its paradise white sandy beaches.
Being close to the equater gives you fantastic hot weather but be warned not to spend too much time in the direct sunlight as you will get burned.
The main culture is arabic, swahilli is widely spoken around the island.
The night market is also worth a visit, but make sure you have a strong stomach as hygiene is not at its best.
Thank you for watching.

People don’t realize how prevalent slavery was and still is in many places in Africa and Asia

And they sweep this under the rug, they don't say a word about it.

Spices were brought by Indians from Kerala to Zanzibar to be planted as they traded with Zanzibar and also sattled there centuries before Europeans ever set foot in East Africa. The large front doors which are carved are also from India Kerala made from Burma teak, , even today they export to Ahab countries but not of Burma teak.
