I'm glad you talking about this, most black American historians ignore the Arab slave trade

Every time I talk about the Arab slave trade some east Africans and black Muslims tell me it wasn't that bad so I took their word for it. But obviously, some of them didn't know what they were talking about.

They don't teach this in American public schools.

"The Arabian slave trade was at least 700 years before the Atlantic slave trade and lasted much longer." People really need to know these things.

I grew up in Egypt and I testify to seeing this still going on in the late 80s and early 90s black people working as slaves in people's homes they often target children kidnapped from southern sudan then raised as Egyptians with little to no knowladge of where they came from

I've been trying to tell people just this. The west learned so many of their ways from the arabs and middle east. We have to go way back to get true untainted african culture. Love this.

I am an Arab and all my pride to be an Arab has disappeared in this video. It's horrible to see people overlooking this topic and no paying attention to it. I am extremely sad to see that my ancestors were capable of doing such horrific (understatement) things to other humans. Africa and African people have endured so much through both slave trades and colonisation. They have a rich, vibrant, amazing, colourful and diverse culture that sadly not many acknowledge. I hope the best for Africa and it's people.

The Arab slave trade started 600 years before the transatlantic slave trade and continues on today in 6 countries

The reason is because the Atlantic is mostly represted by those of Judau/Christian values in which confession, acknowledgment of guilt and repentance are essential. In the Arab they are at best unable to admit it and at worst don't think there is anything wrong with it and honestly is of no importance.

We forget or don't want to acknowledge the Arabs yet we focus on Europeans. This is still going on in Asia.

My knowledge of the Arab slave trade is very limited therefore thank you for this content

The Transatlantic slave trade is more well known for the same reason European history is more well known in general.

Also, due to the visibility of Black Americans.

What hurts the most is these people never acknowledged what they did. They either deny it or defend it. And sadly some Africans deny it too and act as apologists to defend it probably I'm thinking because of religion. This was far worse but atleast the Europeans acknowledged theirs. Even more disgusting to see how most of these same people defend/ hail the ottomans after they massacred the Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, Kurds.
