Man, this goes to show that Speed Racer (as well as his family) are really top tier. He would race in the Grand Prix with lack of sleep due to building the Mach 6 for 32 hours.... And he has to race in a roller coaster of a death circuit with a jet like powered engine on steroids~ It takes tremendous amount of concentration to do that.... And Against all the racers who are paid by Royalton to all gang up on him~

When I was a kid, I used to always imagine this scene with the song "Hearts on Fire" from Rocky IV playing as the background music. I used to always get those kinds of vibes watching this scene, thinking of the Racer family building their car like Rocky Balboa was training in the cabin, while you got Royalton with so much technology, it was like Ivan Drago's gym of its time.
I was a kid. I enjoyed fantasizing that connection back then.

The best part of this scene is the contrast between the assumed Winners and the actual OGs, the massive certain reveal of the Royalton car compared to the oven mitts the Roses caviar and champagne next to Moms PB&Js just perfectly sets how far apart the two worlds are and the authentic working class passion will trump the facade and grandeur of the out of touch rich trying to own something they have no love for

Its actually pretty common in the world of Le Mans/sportscar racing where raceteams may have to assemble a whole new chassis from the bulkhead-out given that they or a support team have all the parts ready within 24 hours.
