It didn't turn out amazing but it is still really nice to see. This is probably my favourite film of all time and its really exciting seeing it in such a high frame rate

To keep his brother alive by keeping his record on the board. Beautiful moment.

There's actually a really good story about a guy that used to play Railsport with his father on the original Xbox. After his father passed away and he grew up, he found his old Xbox and decided to play the game again. The game has a ghost racer system and he saw his father's ghost racer on a track he could never beat his dad in. Since he was an adult now, he got a lot better and was actually passing him. But if he beat the record, his dad's ghost would go away, so he purposely slowed down on the final lap to keep his dad's memory alive.

After all these years, this movie still holds up pretty well. Emile did a great job of portraying Speed in live action.

The opening scene of this movie is just brilliant. We learn everything we need to know about Speed, his childhood & what motivates him to race in less than 10 minutes

This scene make me remember that story about dad who like playing racing game with his son, the dad has passed away and the son didn't play that racing game he play with his dad anymore, but many years later the son replay the racing game and found the "ghost" data of his dad, he play those game and always lose on purpose so he can always play with his dad ghost data

That one tear that tracks down his face right before he lets off the gas is always that REAL kind of last look before you sacrifice yourself's feeling, but in a metaphoric sense since he's sacrificing his own chance at setting a course record legend to let the last living part of his long dead brother remain. Other's like me have a necklace, some people keep a weapon, others carry a picture, but for Speed, what he keeps to keep the last memory of his brother alive? Nothing but that number kept standing by letting off the gas pedal. For Speed Racer, slowing down is like dying to him, but in return, it's keeping a part of him alive he thought he lost long ago.

Guaranteed if this movie came out in the 2010’s, it would be considered a visual masterpiece.

I'm pretty sure the shadow was only in his head, but imagine how awesome it would be if they had a hologram or something of the track record holder racing them every time.

The fact that Rex's record still held up probably after 1-2 generations of T-180s goes to how impressive he was with the Mach-4.

That last second where he respects his brother’s memory and eases up, and the whole family loves him for it… man that gets me every time. Seeing the pride on his parents face because they realize they raised a kid that stays humble.

This whole film is such good wholesome comfort food but never stops being high octane. Love itx

He's not racing against his brother, but with him. Such a beautiful scene

this is one of the sickest f*cking sequences i've seen in cinema. yeah, Avengers may have insane high-budget, extremely technical fights, but none of it comes CLOSE to carrying this much ENERGY and SPEED

I never noticed the tear that falls from Speed’s eye as he lets off so Rex’s record holds up. The little details, man…

i just realized - in the anime, Racer X always holds himself back so his little brother can win the race. this movie does this backwards during this opening action sequence, when Speed deliberately loses to Rex's racing ghost. Speed knows that no one else could beat his time, so he is giving Rex immortality, in a sense.

I love watching Speed chase his brothers shadow. Turn for turn following his racing line like if he was on the track with him. If Rex didn't receive death threats towards him and his family. Rex and Speed would be a Dominant race team.

This movie is highly underrated and doesn’t get the credit that it deserves truly. I was 8 yrs old when this movie came out and I feel that every actor played their part well and it was spot on from the classic animated series back in the 60s. I feel the reason it got so overlooked and slept on was because it was too advanced and ahead of it’s time, but I feel this movie is a hidden gem and I’m a big Speed Racer fan thanks to my Dad who also used to watch the cartoon when he was a kid.

0:44 i love the attention to detail of the wheels bouncing when the car jumps because of the suspension getting thrown around like that
