As a theatre director who has worked on dozens of musicals, I've auditioned literally thousands of singers. Some of them had so much talent that they took your breath away. Some of them were seriously talented but not yet ready for public consumption. However, many many others walked into the audition room or onto the stage with an attitude that was a turn-off from the very beginning. Arrogant, entitled, and devoid of any real talent, they nonetheless were delusional enough to believe that they were the next major superstar. For all those who are planning to audition, whether for a musical or non-musical production, the people who are there to see you--judges, casting people, directors--get an impression the moment you open the door and walk into the room. So leave all the garbage attitude outside that room. Otherwise, you're going nowhere. Period.

Rita got it right on point! That was a "Kanye West effect", but as the judges also said, "But he's not Kanye West yet!" How does ANYONE have the audacity to come out on that stage with all that attitude, in front of the one person that can make or break their entire career??? Smh...need to learn some humility, humbleness and gratitude.
