Hey all wellcome to Reef Gang Aquarium's. Please like and subscribe to my channel and I will post more videos in the future. This video explains how to keep your fish alive long after ich has died off. Minimizing the threat to your fish stock.
If caught early, whitespot / ich is easily treated and should result in full recovery for all fish affected but every day which passes without treatment the chances of survival will reduce to the point of wipeout.

This is the best videos on ick treatment I’ve seen and I have used your method over and over and it has worked! Just keep the fish not stressed, fat and healthy, and have high water quality. Thank you!

Unlike many people on here with their negative comments i think its really great that you found something that works for your tank every tank is diffrent and every persons experience is diffrent. I personally get rid of ich by using fresh water dips continuously and give plently of garlic...long as their eating they always recover for me :)

I had ick I bombarded the water with fresh cut in half garlic and i didn't even notice the ich was gone.I was a professional racing pigeon flyer I became a champion flyer and i attribute that with the daily supplement of garlic. It kept them healthy and disease free.take it for what its worth

Study the ich and marine velvet life cycle. One day you will get velvet and lose all your fish. You are right that the meds don't work. The parasite reproduces in the sand after falling off the fish. I had a quarantine tank with sand so I had to remove the sand, do daily 50% water changes, hypo salinity about 1.008, and suctioning everything from the bottom (parasites) with the water change. I lost my favorite fish due to the medication I tried and only after doing several water changes did the other fish improve. Keep the dt fallow 76 days. If ich returns start over. Maybe something was introduced to the system or the strain was resistant. It only takes one drop of water with one parasite to start the cycle. You are also right with the uv and protein skimmer. Lots of good clean water is what helps the fish recover. The only additive I use is prime to control the ammonia if my tank starts to cycle. With daily water changes its not really a problem. You can slow down on the water changes after a week but continue siphoning everything from the bottom and doing smaller water changes to keep the fish healthy. Nice fish.

I feel ur pain man! I never did QT before, but tried it since everyone says it's the sure way to beat Ich. Well guess what, I tried setting up a QT and it killed more fish than not doing a QT. I actually left my tank fish-less for 2'months as they say, but got icy again anyway! And so I went back to the non-QT method and tried feeding my fishes food mixed with ginger powder and they are thriving. Is my tank Ich free? For sure it's Not! Is my reef and fishes happy? Absolutely!

The most ingenious sump upgrade I've seen! Just a sugestion, have you considered insulating the pipes that run outside to the sump?

I’m wondering why you just didn’t get a different tank instead of running plumbing outside 🤔. Very ingenious though and resourceful lol, way to not let this hobby beat you into submission like most people 👏🏼👍🏼. I have a 54 gallon corner freshwater I can’t bring myself to get rid of but once the fish die I’m moving my 93 gallon cube into that corner. Those corner tanks are much too difficult to get good flow for me to ever dare try to make a mixed reef tank in. Maybe fish only but cudos again man…

Hey man,
I want to say don't always listen to what people say. When I stopped listening to people my tank started flourishing. Take advice from a small group of well knowledgeable individuals who know what they are talking about and as for trolls. trolls will be trolls! Nice set up and if it works for you and you enjoy your tank and the hobby that's what matters. My tank is 10 years old and I still get ich, the only thing I have is a wrasse that is well behaved and eats everything I give her. Keep up the good work! And I'm now subscribed to your channel.

I thought ick is in all fish and when a fish get a stressed that's when they show the signs. If it was in the water it's self your UV system would kill it. My regal got a few spots but then went away. Personally I think leave well alone try to keep the fishes happy and well fed. Getting them out and putting them in another tank to treat to me that's just gonna stress them more. Unless things get really bad. Weekly water changes try keeping everything stable and clean well fed and hopefully all will be well.

You should be running your protein skimmer before your refugium wasn't clear if that was the order in your sump

Bro. Very very true and really appreciate your help in this. I have a question do you freeze your large batch of food after you mix it up? Just curious or keep in fridge.

Thanks
Kevin
