Is Cartoon Network Being Shut Down By Warner Bros. Discovery?

Rumors are swirling that Cartoon Network is going to be shut down by the end of this year. Is there any truth to this?

One thing that I didn't mention in the video is that I'd be shocked if the cable network went completely offline. If Cartoon Network gets dissolved as a brand, the channel will most likely stick around under a new name. Kind of like how WB became the CW many years ago.

This has been the darkest year in the network’s history. Back in 2009, when CN Real was on the way, people were merely upset over programming that seemed inappropriate for the network. Currently, we’re dealing with new, unpredictable management. There’s no telling what might happen next.

Honestly I've been seeing this one coming, although my heart will always treasure the legacy of CN growing up but since it's been not doing so well for a few years now I'm honestly not so surprised it's going to end up like Hanna Barbera and others who've become fully part of WBA, sure it'll be a sad day for everyone including me and my bro to see CN as a brand go down but again I've been seeing this one coming for CN.

I don't think so. Cartoon Network is worth billions of dollars since it was founded, and shutting it down could be catastrophic for WBD.

I don't think Cartoon Network is getting shut down, just rebranded completely. Think about it, they're just getting rid of the Cartoon Network title and continue everything else under a different name. I think they're just going to have a fresh start with a new name. they're not shutting down the network, they're just renaming it. Most if not some television companies do it all the time. The same thing happened with ABC Family when it became Freeform and Nickelodeon's Nicktoons was originally named Nicktoons Network (yeah, I'm one of those people who remember). So, I don't think this is a shutdown just a rebranding. They're not going to shut down the network, just rename it. But hey, at least that's just my theory.

That's it, this merger is *GOING TOO FAR!!!!* And Disney Channel already shut down most of it's international channels! And no one's going to watch Nickelodeon due to how that's going. And this means it's going to be the same thing for Adult Swim, Boomerang, Cartoonito and Toonami. The sad thing about this is that Cartoonito *isn't even a single year old!!!* So Nick better be listening to this possiblity!

I honestly don't think this will happen; this is nothing more than a baseless rumor. The CN Brand would not be smart to get rid of as it's making way to much money for WB. Unless there is conformation from a reliable source, i will not believe this whatsoever

Television is dying.

We've lost Qubo and Disney Channel, as well as Disney XD, are gonna die in about two years or so. I wouldn't be surprised if Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick, Cartoon Nerwork, Boomerang, Discovery Family and Universal Kids are the next ones to go away.

Nowadays, everyone uses the internet and streaming to find their cartoons. They don't really rely on TV anymore. But hey, it's a good thing. People like Viziepop and jacknjellify rather make cartoons on the internet instead of television. Because television nowadays isn't like the 90s and 2000s.

I wish they wouldn't shut down Cartoon Network instead air the old cartoons from early 2000s to 2019 but still air some cartoons that it does nowadays like Dragon Ball Super. Also air the movies that would air every Saturday and Sunday in the above years

If CN doesn't get shut down, I could see it being rebranded as something else so they can 'be forced' to fit in Live Action shows.

No Cartoon Network is not gonna be shut down late this year, let the channel still be on the air for many years to come please.
