Active-duty US Air Force officer crowned 2024 Miss America

2nd Lt. Madison Marsh, a 22-year-old representing Colorado, became the first active-duty service member to claim the crown in the Miss America pageant. She stops by Studio 1A to talk about her accomplishments, spreading positive messages and what her next goals include.

from her Wikipedia entry .. Marsh attended Southside High School, and graduated in 2019. As a child and teenager, she participated in space camps and flying lessons, receiving her pilot license at age 16. This led her to enroll in the United States Air Force Academy in El Paso County, Colorado, graduating with a degree in astrophysics in 2023. Upon her graduation, Marsh became a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Marsh later enrolled in the Harvard Kennedy School to pursue a Master of Public Policy. In Taekwondo she has a black belt.

Such a great story couldn't happen to a better person than a service member. It's awesome how she's bringing pancreatic cancer awareness to everyone's attention, her mom should be so proud of her. Every family member I have lost was due to cancer.
