A lot of newer channels think that in order to create a successful channel, they need expensive equipment and that's simply not the case. I literally use a $5 lamp I got from target and I taped some paper over it to diffuse the light evenly. I know it might not be the best and most impressive lighting setup, but for someone who records in my room with limited space, it works wonders. I'm on the verge of breaking 1000 subscribers and I can tell you right now, it's because of the quality of my content and engagement with my audience, not how much I've spent on equipment. Good luck everyone!!! 😬

DUDE - THANK YOU for breaking this into laymans terms regarding the 'blurry background' issue!!! Not a single Youtuber has said this! I think it's one of those 'its so simple it gets overlooked'. I finally figured this out a little bit ago when it came time for me to build my own studio. But I WISH another creator had just come out and said this!

In keeping with the theme of this video, I’m finding that it’s actually pretty fun to see my video quality improve each month, both from slowly upgrading gear to just more practice with making videos. YouTube is a journey, and it’s pretty fun to actually see progress. Remember everyone, seek progress, not perfection!

I didn’t need a new mic until I heard how the deity eliminated the wind noise in the clip by the sliding glass door! Great video!

I have a cheap setup I made from your videos. But lately I've been trying ti have a different background in every video I make and it's really increased my creativity and production value on my videos!

Remember that the substance in your content is KEY; and you're as good as the tool you've mastered.
Great video as always guys!

Just picked up a cheap ring light for $35 on Amazon, over the weekend. It's super bright and has different light modes. Haven't used it in a video yet, but considering I didn't have a light before, it should help my videos out a lot!

I am making youTube videos just with my iPhone, nothing else. You just need to believe on yourself that you can create good content. Best of luck 🤞

Awesome gear suggestions! I just purchased the Sony ZV-1 and I also film with my Samsung Note 10 plus. I think that people who are new to Youtube should consider purchasing their equipment slowly and overtime as they need it as everyone has different needs. I would highly suggest that if you do a lot of indoor videos, then you need to have good lighting. The audio coming out of your phone or cameras are quite decent and as long as you have excellent content you will be fine. If you are doing voice overs then definitely upgrade microphone as the computer mics are not that great. I do like the idea of using the Diety mic as it does contribute to a better sounding audio for your video. Thanks for sharing this information Omar. You talk at a great pace making it easy to understand you. Some other people on this channel either speed up the the video or talk way too fast. Have a fantastic day!

The Canon M50 is available on the Canon refurbished site for $422. A great deal! That, plus the Sigma 16mm or the Canon 22mm ($159 refurbished) make for a great deal! (Sure, you can't really film 4K with it, but otherwise it's a great and easy-to-use starter camera.)

The Diety M50 ups the audio game definitely. No contest from the base device mic.

I love how relatable you made the budgeting to take these crucial steps. I have the best setup here as I'm barefoot and caffeine deprived, but worth it!!!

Most people think that audio is secondary, but it is most important.
