Went from making a beef wellington for Gordon, to roasting him for his terrible grilled cheese sandwich. Guga needed to get revenge after being called a donut!

If Gordon was on master chef with this, all the judges would’ve sent him home

The Pepperberry cheese is made from the pepper berry bush exclusive to Tasmania. It's also known as Mountain Pepper, is an evergreen shrub often used as a culinary spice. It can be found in Aboriginal cuisine. A very nice cheese with a heck of a bite! You can order some of the berries and you can make a great compound butter from it Guga!

if Gordon had watched ANYONE else do that he'd call them a donut

"he was on vacation" hear me out, this is exactly what a drunk chef with top tier taste would cook. Like the equivalent of a college kid adding peanut butter and onions to their ramen

I'd love to see someone do a redo of this using the same cheeses and kimchi over a fire but done properly to get a true gooey grilled cheese. Guga is the man for experimenting with fire.

I'm amazed the two of you didn't point out the fact that when he combined the breads into a sandwich, he layered the same cheeses on top of each other instead of overlapping. Now instead of getting two different cheeses in one bite, you're going to be getting one cheese so he should have just made two different sandwiches.

I often think professional chefs are full of craziness that no normal person can achieve, so keep these videos coming.

Cheese on toast is a common snack in the UK. It consists of (normally) ready toasted bread, topped with sliced or grated cheese which is then broiled in order to melt the cheese and served open (not as a sandwich). Cheddar is the most common cheese used, but many households tend to buy quite mature cheddar which is rather hard and doesn't melt well at all - but still makes a delicious bit of toast. It seems like Gordon has tried to combine a fancy version of this with an american grilled cheese (which is uncommon in the UK) and has not been especially successful with replicating the grilled cheese part.

What he made was definitely not grilled cheese. It turned out to be cheese on toast. In Gordon's mind, he probably nailed his cheese on toast aka "grilled cheese" . I agree he nailed cheese on toast but again, definitely not grilled cheese.

This is great, Gordon finally made a video of him cooking while drunk! I mean he even thought the fireplace was his stove!😂

Pepperberry is a native Tasmanian plant, so that particular cheese is unique to Tasmania, both cheeses used being locally made.

Chedder is also available with Pepperberry.

Nobody ever mentions how Ramsay arranged the cheese so that when you put the sides together, the same types of cheese end up on the same half of the sandwich. There is no blend at all. You cut that thing in half and end up with each half having a different flavor.

He just keeps reassuring that it's going well by describing every ingredient as beautiful. *Burns the bread* "Ah yes but that BEAUTIFUL kimchi and the cheese with that BEAUTIFUL local bread"

I think you grilled Gordon more than he grilled that hard cheese sandwich 😂😂😂

As a Vietnamese, i actually tried to make the Gordon Ramsay "Grilled" Cheese, as he said at the start this is actually more of a british "Cheese on toast" then the American grilled cheese (it just that the term grilled cheese is more common and sound better then just cheese on toast). I, of course, didn't use a fire place to cook it since i don't have one but i did use a coal grill, The hard cheese and the toasted bread actually have a really good texture and flavour that i would argue better than a typical american grilled cheese, the flavour of this slightly soften hard cheese is super impactful, it spread salty savory note around you mouth with hint of funkiness/umaminess. I would definitely recommend Gordon "Grilled Cheese" if you like a flavourful sandwich, if you like a cheesy pull then this probably isn't the sandwich for you.

Me and my friends make grilled cheeses on our summer cottage on similar open fire as Gordon, using a cast Iron skillet as well. It really burns easily but you got to use softer cheeses like cheddar and cream cheeses! We like to do salami and sriracha sauce combo, best with a fresh beer❤

Those cheeses Gordon used look more like you'd want them either shaved or grated, possibly cut into smallish cubes to eat with a dry cured sausage, olives and some kind of sweet wine or fruity tea. At least for the asiago, the other. Thin cubes with a summer sausage, fruit and a chilled fruity/sweet drink. Possibly with a good salsa and torn apart toasted flat bread like a pita maybe flour tortilla. In my opinion at least for those in particular.

As for an actual grilled cheese sandwich. Hard to go wrong with mild or medium cheddar, smoked Gouda is good, Munster is good. Thin sliced or shreds. The bread, something like a sourdough or other sturdy crust and crumb bread, must be a crust around the perimeter. Mighty butter or mayo swipe one side, smear of roasted garlic on inside of slice, place down small handful of cheese shred in buttered pan to melt, place bread on the cheese. Another small handful of cheese shred or thin sliced. Cook till cheese on outside is crispy, repeat with other bread side. When the filling is melted gooey, press halves together. Let sit for a minute before cutting in triangles, serve as is or with a tomato soup, possibly a meaty thick broth (a broth that's stew thick).

Further watching, yeah that's not a grilled cheese Gordon's eating. Sure it may be tasty but it's not melted at all. It's warmed and the bread is toasted slightly burned but t that's it.
