Double San Diego jam knot that’s what we call it here in SD. We use this knot to fish tuna in the hundreds of pounds or some bulldog yellowtail. I’m talking about cranking and putting that rod on the boat rail for a few hours sometimes. And it hasn’t failed me once. Not even the single San Diego Jam knot. I think the double is overkill. I use the single to the lure or bait and tie my braid to flouro with the Royal Polaris knot. Small and flies through the guides and super strong. The runs the fish do and the bulldoggin they do straight down is unlike anything you’ve felt before. These knots haven’t failed me once and easy to tie. I use these for Bass fishing now. They’re definitely not breaking these off.

Shaw grisby knot is where I learned how to tie very similar to a double San Diego jam but a little different

We call it a double pitzen and I’ve never lost a fish on it, after I learned how to properly cinch it. This is one you really need to cinch correctly or that lures flying its final cast

I've been using this not all year. I was originally doing it with one tag end instead of looping it first. Ive used that knot for 20 years . For some reason this year I was breaking off alot at the knot. I started looping it and didn't even know it was this well known

When i first switched to flouro, i had a trilene knot slip out with a 3 pounder. After that, i watched your knot video and ive not had an issue ever since and i been catchin muskies with it! Plus, its incredibly easy, i love it!

Great knot! Even the single pitzen (with a few more wraps) is a very good knot.

I have been using this knot for years. Never ever fails. I always called it the Shaw Grigsby knot because I learned it after watching a video of his.

A San Diego jam hasn’t failed me yet, so I’m going to stick with it for now.

You taught me this "double pitzen" about 2 years ago and it is now the only know use except for drop shots.

I agree strongest floor knot I have tried. First time using it on a fishing trip. Hung up a 1/2 football jig. With 16lbs shooter. Broke the hook and half and reeled back the jig with a med/hvy gauge wire snapped in half

This became my go-to knot for fluorocarbon to lures after watching this video. For plain hooks or braid, I like the Uni knot or doubled uni knot.

100% agree Super strong, extremely consistent and when you cut it off it pulls off the lure easy

Berkley braid knot is similar and tests show it stronger.

I thought you got off the double pitzen? I still use it after I got it from you. Only knot I use other than a loop knot on weightless flukes.
