Laptop No Display Black Screen Blank Screen On Startup - Basic To Advanced Troubleshooting

A laptop with no display with black screen or blank screen on startup can have a few causes. In this case the laptop does turn on, that is when you press the power button there is some activity like led lights, but you cannot see anything on the screen since the laptop screen is blank or black. In this YouTube video tutorial I show you how to do some basic to advanced troubleshooting tips and steps to possibly help you fix your laptop.

There is always more than 1 reason why a laptop has no display, or black screen or blank screen, you should try all the steps in the video. In the end, if still unsuccessful, take you laptop to a
professional to have it assessed and possibly fixed.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU!, I happened to find your video after days without my laptop working and searching for a new one and my Canon 70D broke as well.
My laptop wasn't turning on. I could see a light from where the power cord went into charge. I decided to try one more thing and did what you suggested, unplug, take out the battery, press down on the power button for 5 seconds. Then plug back in.

Today is July 3rd. I just want to say thanks and thumbs up. I never thought of using a bright flashlight on the laptop screen. I did that and saw the start up issues. I did the automatic fix on start up, and it took care of firing up the laptop. The back light is out. BUT, external monitor is working perfectly. Now I have to replace the screen. Thanks again.

It worked exactly as you said in the video. My old laptop broken screen for almost 3 years. I put Vga cable and did the FN F5 on my hp 630. Thank you brother!!! your awesome

Actually helped so much. Turns out for some reason my ram's were working fine and all but had to do the discharge thing and swap rams... worked perfectly!
