How to Fix No Sound in Nvidia Shadowplay Recordings Error

Shadowplay recordings can sometimes capture with no audio. This is usually because of an audio device issue within the game your playing, or GeForce experience overlay. To ensure that the audio will be recorded correctly open up the sound properties on your computer, and make sure the default output device is set to the headset or speaker you use when gaming.

In the GeForce Experience application overlay you then want to set the audio output to your default device, or the device you’re using for gameplay. Your microphone can also be setup in the Shadowplay settings to allow you to record your own voice.

Separating the audio tracks will allow you to have your voice and game sounds seperate. This means there will be two tracks allowing you to choose which track you listen to.

One the audio outputs have been setup the Nvidia Shadowplay recordings will now have audio.

if you're using a Razer headset and your output is (thx spatial audio) shadowplay will not pick up the audio, change back to the original sound output.

the problem im having is, I have to reset my audio EVERY time i get on my computer or halfway through the day. it just stops picking up all audio all together. WHY, why does it just stop working. it ruins half the funny convos me and my buds have as well as to tell what happened in some clips so it just makes me not want to use this feature at all. its beyond infuriating.

I can't change the audio source in the Nvidia Shadowplay settings 0:55. I cannot hear any sound coming out from my headset but I can hear it after I turned Shadowplay off, could this be the reason?

GoXLR user here. After playing around with this, this is what helped me:

I am using a GoXLR by the way.

1) Alt + z
2) Click the microphone icon and go to settings
3) for source, use Broadcast Stream Mix
4) make sure you are using Single Track

I've been having non stop issues with audio since I got a new pc. currently, I have to change the default audio output every other day to get any gameplay audio. It stays the same, but I have to switch it from default to my headset, and vice versa. doesn't matter which one, it just matters which one it was, changing it fixes it, not changing it to a specific one. It's driving me crazy.

This didn't work, but what did work for me was changing NVIDIA container's sound device in the settings (instead of changing the game's sound device). For some reason NVIDIA container on "default" was trying to pull from a difference device than everything else.

in my game, there is no default audio device only the one im using. i did everything else and it doesn't work :(

Set it to a single track if its still not recording audio, shadowplay didn't let me have game audio if I had it set to separate tracks.

i cannot use the default audio because that's my motherboard and the audio chip broke so i use my monitor audio jack
