A big thank you to @Vessi for sponsoring this video. One of the fondest memories was a meal we had many years ago with some friends as we were visiting Portland Oregon along the Columbia River. We stopped off a place called Salty's because we heard they have a famous Seafood brunch that's only offered on Sundays. It was a fantastic experience, but they had a pause over the last few years. I am happy to say that they are back and a big thank you to many viewers for reaching out and letting me know! I had to make a visit!

After a few years, I couldn't wait to get back and am happy to say that the buffet is back and better than ever! Abundant seafood fresh from the Pacific NorthWest with it's sweet succulent dungeness crab, shrimp, and other crustaceans. Right when you enter, you are greeted with the friendly servers and hosts along with the wonderful aromas from the kitchen of their slow and low roasted prime rib and meats at the carvery station. Go a little further and you'll fine their world famous seafood chowder with a shot of sherry to make it tasty. And or course, a buffet wouldn't be complete with a decadent dessert station with a giant chocolate fountain! A really enjoyable experiences with great food, great people and a spectacular view of the Columbia River.

Sept 1991 my family from Hawaii was here visiting so there were like ten of us here for dinner. We ate, drank and had a great time. My 47 year old mom passed away later that night so this restaurant was my last meal with my mom. I still live in Portland and have never been back. This was a trip to watch.

Tim, I think this is the first time I have commented on your videos but I've been watching them all year and love them. First of all, my favorite thing is the way you say "umm" when you first try something and tilt your head towards the camera. Just so. It's so cute. Dipping the corn dog in the chowder was brilliant and your love of food and good company and your sweet demeanor make for a most entertaining and delightful video each time. I'm glad to see that you now have over 100, 000 subscribers and that means that you'll have more opportunities, more sponsors and that's all to the good because you work so hard. I mean this video alone shows that you dedicate yourself so much because you got up so early to drive! Just for us, oh and for the chance at that pristine buffet. Love it!❤

This guy is my favorite to watch regarding buffets. And he calls the employees by their names.

Salty's is one of the best restaurants around. June of 2023 my parents went there for an early anniversary less than a week before he passed away. We went back as a family for his birthday the next year and they were so sweet and went out of their way to make it special for us they were so kind and accommodating for my mom's scooter as well.

I've lived within an hour of that place for 38 years and this is the first I've heard of it. Might be hard to make the buffet while I'm working night shift, but thank you for showing us this. That place looks amazing.

Hi Tim, thank you for another positive video! I came across your channel when looking for Hawaii restaurants for my son (a college freshman who was accepted to present a paper at the East-West Philosophers Conference at UofH Manoa), but have been watching ever since. With our current world a bit out of sorts, I really appreciate the journeys of simple pleasures you take your viewers on. I would love to see you add some more travel-vlog segments, to see not just food but amazing places in the world through your kind eyes. 😊

I'd recommend adding a bit of horseradish to the butter you were using for dipping, adds a nice spicy richness to it
