I have been experimenting with zero waste fashion methods and this take on patchwork has been a lot of fun to make. Although it is time consuming, I enjoy the process and like how I am able to give new life to secondhand jeans no one would by becuase they are damanged or stained and turn them into these creations. For the sheer outer fabric, I use curtains that I find at the thrift store.

This is pretty cool . I made my gf 6 pairs of daisy dukes shorts using her old denim shorts and made them using pieces of different pairs and they look cool and she loves them and says they are the most comfortable and beautiful looking denim shorts she has ever had and she said they are very comfortable and fit perfectly and better then any store bought denim shorts she has ever had. I showed her this and she loves the jeans you did in the end

Traditional denim is 100% cotton. Cotton is biodegradable and compostable. It is also extremely rugged and will last for years, needing to be replaced less frequently than synthetic fabrics. Why is it bad for the environment? Some women’s denim is now made from plastic, which is awful, but what you look to be cutting is a true denim.

I'm sorry but I think you are wasting material. Using mesh (new and plastic) and especially the fact that you are cutting/destroying big pieces of denim into garbage basically. How about just good old fashioned quilting...?
