After 10 years I'm again in the market for a new car and been trying to find YouTube videos from people who are regular folks that post their experiences for these new cars. So far you are the only one I've discovered and I thank you for posting this.

New owner of a 2022 AWD ID 4 here. Totally agree on the windows, I wish there were 4 buttons instead of the "rear" toggle. That said, love the car.

If you hold the rear button it’ll turn it into all window controls

You need to move far when closing the trunk using your foot so that it doesn't hit you..!

The Homelink mirror is an option that needs to be added at the time the vehicle is ordered. Optionally, you can buy the
Homelink mirror(garage door buttons plus compass) and install it yourself.

I have a RWD Pro S on order to use as a commuter car and wasn't sure the RWD would be enough power. Thanks for going into depth on the driving dynamics, it reinforced my decision that I don't need AWD. Great job. 👍

I know you said this is your first EV review but:
1. Charging ANY EV with a level 1 charger is slow so this is nothing unique to the VW ID. 4
2. The back hatch was beeping at you because you were too close to the car. Step back and it closes.
3. Agreed with the piano black plastic. Seems to be a common theme in cars these days.
4. For your safety/privacy, you should edit out (blur) your license plates.
5. The window switch is annoying; 4 buttons would be a much better design.
6. The volume slider for the entertainment system on the steering wheel is lit.

You had to back away from the trunk for it to close. The beeping is “get back”.

when using B mode does the rear brake light turn on automatically when you let go of the throttle without stepping on brake ?

If you walk away after you kick to close the trunk, it will close.

I am sorry my friend, but you need to do more research before doing a review on an EV, especially in regard to the different charging level options and understanding that there are different degrees of level 2 charging depending on the amperage of the lever 2 charger. And again with the window switch. It is not a big deal! It is not confusing.
