I had my ID.4 for 2 years and I haven’t encountered none of the problems you had mentioned. I love my ID.4

iD.4 owner here. Zero issues. Sorry to hear about your experience being so shitty. The Qi heating issue is not a VW specific problem-- it is Qi in general. Car dealerships not having loaners is not a VW issue. All car dealerships are cutting back. This is a common 2021 Launch Edition story. Hence why I waited for the 2022 to pull the trigger. I'm glad I did otherwise I'd probably be making the same videos as yourself.

Here in Europe it has long been known that the software in these cars is awful - VW have now already released a complete updated version of the ID3 (which I believe is not sold in the US) This version is basically the car they should have released in the first place - there were so many complaints that they had to listen. As well as a complete overhaul of the interior materials (much higher quality) there has been a complete overhaul of the cars software, which was the thing that had the most complaints.

I was very close to getting an ID.4 last year in July, but couldn't find one without massive markup or a 6 month delay. I ended up with a Chevy EUV instead. I'm pleasantly surprised, 1 year later with the car. No real issues besides a gasket that needed glued. Wireless Android Auto is 99.9% reliable, only acting up when my phone's Bluetooth is janked and the phone needs rebooted. Tire pressure is also shown per tire, and seems to update a few times a minute. I'm astonished that Chevy was able to make a great infotainment system, while VW can't.

Don't let this video deter you. Read the comments and decide for yourself. Despite the report of no over the air update, I have in fact gotten over the air updates as of July 2024. This vehicle runs and looks beautiful.

I was almost a purchaser of the id4. Luckily they didn’t have one in stock and i would have to order. I was on the list for a Tesla but after getting the Tesla shuffle for 3 months I decided to look around. I discovered the EV6 and ordered one. It took only two months to get my colors and AWD. I have had the car since July of 22. No issues. Never had to take it back to the dealer. Love this car. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The pressure pump has a manometer, at least in Europe, so it is annoying to have the tire pressure error on, but pumping it without checking what the actual pressure is in your tires ... 😅😂

That sucks. I literally have not experienced a single issue you listed. It reminds me if my Jeep Patriot. No one had any issues besides me. 🤷‍♂️

I’m happy with my Id4 2023 Pro S. Absolutely zero issues. Love it!

As a European, I would NEVER purchase a European car. Let alone a German car. Let alone a Volkswagen vehicle.

12:36 this paints a glaring issue happening right now not just with car companies but basically all companies. Happens a lot with apple, google, and other phone makers. Say something bad? Banned from events and review units. Youtubers instead of sticking up and not letting these companies do that will just continue to talk only positive things to stay on their good side. What a shame.

Bought my Tesla Model 3 Long Range in 2021. Have no zero problems. Best car I've ever owned by several orders of magnitude. You should reconsider getting a new Tesla. Seems like they've worked out many of their former quality control issues.

Volvo C40 with android auto has been near flawless for the last 14 months of ownership. Software issues like mapping were updated over the air about six months later. This is why I’m considering the new EX 90.

Let me resume this video for you:

Very clickbaitey title and thumbnail, you act like the main reason you sold the car was because it “sucked” but a big reason of it is because you’re moving to Thailand. Which you didn’t mention until half way through the video, that feels disingenuous to me.

A lot of this video seems like an overreaction too. The Android Auto rant that takes up too much time than it should. Android Auto sucks, I’ve had connection issues with multiple cars and phones. You having what looks like an old Google Pixel doesn’t help either, those are known for having glitchy and faulty hardware and software. Your phone overheating is not going to be ONLY the cars fault. Every car I’ve used with CarPlay works as it should while I’ve had so many issues with Android Auto. It’s not really a safety issue either, you shouldn’t be trying to fix Android Auto while driving you should pull over always.

You spend so much time complaining about small issues like the Android Auto and dont really talk about the actual issues like the 12v issues causing the car to brick. The 12v issues were also to be addressed in the recall update to 2021 models you had right before you sold it so they should not happen anymore.

I appreciate you saying the 2022 and 2023s are better, because they are. I have one and I love love love it. No issues at all and it’s comfortable with great range charging and price.

Not saying these issues are ok but if you’re buying a brand new year one car model with a completely new powertrain there’s most likely to be issues. Even a year one car from a company that’s known for being reliable like Toyota can have major issues. You should avoid first year cars if you don’t want issues. 2022 and 2023 ID.4s do not have many issues.
