Many people believe Voldemort's Patronus is a snake, but that's not correct. Voldemort is actually not able to conjure a Patronus, period, because is simply so evil, that he has no happy energy to use for conjuring a Patronus. In fact, no Death Eater, other than Severus Snape is able to produce a Patronus either.

I love the stipulations for casting a patronus because Umbridge was still able to cast a patronus, implying that she finds happiness in being such a horrible person.

I would think Bellatrix would be able to if she was thinking of The Dark Lord or of carnage she's caused over the years because she would look back on it with happiness but other then that I don't think she would be able to conjure a patronus charm.

it's not because of happiness but the purity of heart. only snape had a pure heart. Lucius could've used memories of his family to cast one if he was pure.

I once saw a theory that his patronus is actually a dementor. Kind of ironic

And it gave me an idea of some sort of "Dark" Patronus, where you focus on terrible things you've done or witnessed. A complete opposite of regular Patronus. But I have to think on what it would be able to do, maybe make Dementors your buddies or something.

In fact a patronus can only be cast by a person pure of heart, who is worthy. it would kill a person, which is not. Raczidian died of this. however Umbridge is a plot hole in this, since she can cast one. I think Umbridge can cast one, because she actually believes to be on the right side and to do good. she believes her convictions and trials and all the things she did were good things. What I mean is, that she is complete unable to see the harm and negativity she is causing, since then she would feel like a pure hearted person. the difference is that most death eaters and voldemort actually do know what is right and wrong. they know the consequences of killing someone or torturing someone. however I cant prove it. It also could be that Rowling just fucked up here.
