DSLR Astrophotography Equipment (Beginner's Deep Sky)

In this video I'm going to show you how to get started with DSLR Astrophotography, all the equipment I recommend and more. Picking the correct astronomy and astrophotography equipment is difficult, even more so as a beginner. It's critical to get it right! So I made it my mission to break it down for you and explain each piece – from the mount to the camera – you'll need to get started.

Deep Sky Astrophotography is demanding in a lot of areas and the astrophotography equipment you choose has to be up to the task. Covering the mount, a telescope, camera and auto guiding, I'll tell you what I recommend to photograph space, galaxies, stars and galaxies.

I can't tell you this is cheap. I tried to keep this as budget as possible whilst being able to give you great results. If you go second hand you should be able to get close to £1000. However this deep sky astrophotography bundle will serve you well and will get you going and keep you going for many a night of astrophotography.

Overall, a completely spot-on presentation. You defined the GEM and explained why you chose the refractor nicely. I only have one skywatcher product, a 127mm Maksutov, but I totally agree that Skywatcher makes great products. Thank you so much for your presentation!!! A dream setup? Lightweight mount that has all the power of your smartphone, like built-in GPS, wifi capability built-in, and has a built-in computer with options for you to choose which OS/software path you want. All of this with a solid mount holding 45 lbs but mount head weighing no more than 25 lbs. I have a brace installed on my neck bone so weight is a factor. So, again thank you for your presentation and question as to what would be a dream setup. I'll be recommending this video every time someone asks about what to get and why.

The telescope in this video is one which i was considering buying before this video. This video helps so so much, thanks for all the great tips. my dream is taking a picture of the Andromeda galaxy and hopefully a rig like this will do it.
