Hi all,

In this video, I'll talk about why I think a simple, old, used dSLR is the perfect way for anyone to start their journey into the wonderful journey of astrophotography! #astronomy #astrophotography #dslr #canonphotography #deepsky #deepspace #andromeda #m31 #redcat #williamoptics #skywatcher #astro #galaxy #optolong #lightpollution #longexposurephotography

Another great video. I am just now at the point to get a DSLR camera to get started diving into astrophotography. You brought out some great points of what to look for and watch out for when purchasing a camera like the shutter count of which I would not have know about. Then there is the "practical" side of using equipment and to tailor it for use. Thanks again and clear skies1

Awesome video. I’m just getting into the hobby and just trying to get as much as possible info and you cover a lot especially cameras no one else talks about. Thanks for that 👍🏻

For my budget, a dedicated astrophotography camera is the way to go,

Nobody else covers basic camera mechanical issues and cost considerations better than you for entry level use to avoid the rabbit hole trap. Good luck🙂

Thank you for the depth in the video. I'm only just getting started in AP and was going to use my Canon T3i. I don't want to burn through the helpless thing that fast. Great videos though. Keep it up!

what camera did you upgrade to, I'm just starting out collection equipment planing a rig build, My Daughter got a brand new Canon 60D several years ago I know for a fact it has low miles on it. I may try to buy it from her. What kind of mod did you do to your D60? Nice vid you almost made me cry for giving up your 60D LOL .... thanks for a great vid...Chow.

Late to the party.
Here’s the thing imop. The software for processing Astro photos is continuously Improving to the point were it’s almost eliminating noise, gradients and all sorts of image flaws . It’s getting so good that I see no value in introducing complexity and cost into the image train via a dedicated Astro cam . I’ll stay with my Canon T5i and 80D thank you .

Hello I just watched your video review of the Altair Astro 26c. I noticed you haven't used it in a while so I was just wondering if you got rid of it why because I was considering this camera. Thanks
