The “rat” in the tape (which is actually a possum btw) isn’t just a possible allusion to Hamlin, it also reminds me of Swiper from the Dora The Explorer cartoon, which is what Amanda is based off. Although more pathetic in this version 😂

The creature under the couch looks to be an American Oppossum, known for eating ticks and fleas that carry diseases and their immunity to rabies, as well as their ability to *play dead*... or rather, the fact that they go into a lil coma when stressed which appears *like* death so much that a predator about to attack it may think its poisoned / extremely sick and Not Eat It, and that trait led to more surviving despite it being kinda hell on the Oppossum. Like in-born PTSD where triggers make your heart slow down so much it mighta as well have stopped.

Amanda mentioned that sometimes she can feel herself, her *body, * rotting somewhere out there in the world. But maybe that's the hell it feels like when she gets upset and the monster breaks free; like the Oppossum, it's a thing she cannot control, and *feels* like she's dead and rotton... but maybe she isn't?

This is likely a prequel - aunt Kate who died investigating the Amanda disappearances worked as a children’s librarian by day and a paranormal investigator by night. It would also explain why Wooly is absent - he hasn’t been “uploaded” into the tapes yet. So, either prequel, or sequel with someone working in that same library and Amanda really killed or otherwise got rid of Wooly in the old tapes…

When he typed Sam's name in, we all saw Amanda's reaction to it. To be honest, I was as surprised as Mike was to see Wooly wasn't there, but Amanda still had her sanity. Also, I have no idea how he solved that puzzle with the books, but it was really clever. Excited to see when the full game drops.
