I've replaced a few iPod touch screen, and iPhone 4 screen and an iPhone 5 screen, I love doing it and wish I could do more, before this video I wouldn't dare try a iPhone 6 but it looks fairly simple

You should disconnect the battery. If you don't there is a change you could mess up your backlighting

If you don't use the touch ID feature ) and never set it up, do you need to switch out the home button? I'd rather avoid that step being as I never use that feature. (I have a iPhone 6S Plus model). Thanks and very detailed video.

I bought a cheap display (£20) off ebay, and it came complete with everything including the touch sensor. I swapped the touch sensor for the original one and everything works fine. It took me about 20 minutes in total.

Good tip for testing all areas of the screen after post-repair boot-up: grab one of the app icons and move it around all areas of the screen. If it drops anywhere, chances are you have a problem area of your screen.

After looking on eBay the price of the screen is about the same as what they charge at the Apple Store for the glass-only (so they say) replacement.
Perhaps for broken glass-only it's better to have it done at the Apple Store, in this way you're sure that even if they replace the entire screen, the new one won't have any burned out pixels or other defects.
